The lightspeed-progression of freestyle skiing means that skiers are demanding more and more of their equipment. Line answers this demand for more durable freestyle skis with the Afterbang. Designers threw away everything they knew about ski construction and turned to action-sports' most respected and most durable construction-the skateboard deck. the 7-ply maple veneer layout is ultra-strong without weighing a ton.

  • True twin-tip geometry for the same feeling riding forward or switch
  • Base and edge are twice the thickness of a standard ski for extreme durability and impact resistance
  • Skate Deck construction adds stiffness and durability
  • Symmetric flex at the tip and tail for predictable handling whether riding forward or switch

Bottom Line: Old school technology, futuristic performance.

Hey I want to know how much differently the 166 handles to the 177, I'm 5' 10'' 155lbs and need something to just jam all day and not worry about catching edges being off-balance for a switch-up.

Awesome ski!

By:
March 10, 2011

I got these skis at the start of the season and theyre amazing! Awesome in the park, especially for jibbing. If you ski them right they can carve turns out pretty good too, even though i have pretty much no edges. They hold up well on all but the biggest kickers, and spinning is a breeze. Also Im a ski instructor so ive had roughly 100 days of fairly hard riding on them. my top sheets are beat up along with my edges and bases from rails, but theyre still getting the job done great.

Is there an unwritten age requirement on these skis? I'd really like to get them, but with all the marketing aimed at teen skaters I don't know if they're for me. I've never had twin tips and I'd like something cheap and durable to to thrash on, so these seem to do the trick.

if your looking for something durable to thrash on, these are the skis. they are made for jibbing and can take a beating. if youve never had twintips tho ill assume that youve never done any park skiing, and this might not be the ski for a first time park skier just getting into it. with a symmetrical tip and tail these skis are 100% park skis. idont really kno what your talking about for the age thing tho; these ski are great for anybody looking for a great park ski

Amazing ski, poor durability

By:
December 5, 2010

I have the afterbangs and absolutely loved them... until this season. The durability of these skis is less than what I expected. In all fairness rode them quite hard for about 70 days, but then again I expect a ski to last longer than 70 days. Aside from the edge cracks that are 100% my fault from hitting rails; the edge in the tail pulled out for no apparent reason, the ski has completely become rockered in the tail (no more camber), and as of yesterday my binding is beginning to pull out. The days that I did get on this ski were amazing, but too few. If you are looking for a fun park ski that will last about a season I highly recommend the afterbang. However if you are looking for a ski that can withstand hard riding for multiple season, this ski is not for you.

155's will be slightly long for park, but it sounds like you aren't done growing and by the end of the year they will probably be perfect, whereas any other length will likely be too short after this season.

its def not the ski (abangs are super strong in this aspect with the way the layers are thicker in the middle) and prob not the binding. you might have screwed up when you mounted them. maybe forgot to add epoxy to the holes or something

Yeah the Griffon is a good binding for the A'Bangs. Get the 177 for sure, the length adds stability in the park, and on landings.
