A ski designed for bangers.

The Line Afterbang Ski is bombproof like a skateboard is bombproof, because ... wait for it ... it's built like a skateboard. You can bang away on Afterbang and thanks to its Skate Deck technology, which uses six plys of horizontally layered maple veneer, it can take it. Yes, this park ski is one of a kind, in more ways than one: buttery smooth at the tip and tail and an early-rise camber make this a ride that ollies just as easy at it pops, and slides just as easy as it spins, while the traditional camber underfoot gives you steady edge control and the ability to carve deep turns instead of sliding. 88mm waist is wide enough to give you balance on rails, boxes, and pole jibs and skinny enough so you still feel nimble.

You'll get the responsiveness you need from the Carbon fiber stringers (Carbon Ollieband), which run the full length of the ski and add pop by springing back quickly after you load the ski in a turn or before ollies. Symmetric flex uses the same flex pattern front-to-back so this ski feels just as predictable switch as it does running forward. Butter Zone technology aligns the thinnest point of the ski in front and behind the binding to create a hinge point in the flex for easier presses and butters. The 5 Cut Sidecut shape blends five different sizes of sidecut radius into a single shape for ultimate turn shape versatility. Give this ski a pounding in the park; it can take it. On top of the Skate Deck construction, Fatty Base and Edge means a thicker base and edge for increased ski durability and tuning lifespan.

Noodles of Fun

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Not a very strong or durable ski, but it is a really fun jibbing ski. Like most Line Skis, it's as soft as a wet noodle. This makes jumping or skiing outside of the park a bit challenging, but if you all you like to do is butter and hit rails it's a good fit. Just don't expect much in terms of durability or overall performance, just butter.

Such a lie...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bombproof you say?! I used these skis for less than two months when one of the edges cracked and began separating from the base. Then they cracked two more times on the same edge. When I put in a warranty claim with Line they told me tough luck, that it was not covered. Then I tried to go through their customer service department and was put on hold for 25 minutes so I hung up and tried to use the web app, which also did not work. I'm a ski instructor in Michigan and I ride park but nothing crazy - some rails, jumps etc. Also the Yellow top sheet chips off from day one, and like a black car shows scratches, bright yellow skis show topsheet damage. Bottom line: looks cool out of the box, but not so much after a few days.

Dig the Skate deck

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love these skis. Really like the graphics and skate deck construction. Soft, forgiving, easy to ski. Overall a really fun ski that looks cool too. Great for park but I ski them all over the mountain too. That being said, they suck in powder :) and they are a pretty heavy ski, but they have lasted really well, especially for park skis.
