The Line 130 is the grand-daddy of all fat powder skis. Line designed the first 130 when fat powder skis were 105mm under foot. The 130 revolutionized powder ski design. Not only with huge waist dimensions, but also with Early-Rise tip technology to increase float in powder. Years later, the 130 soldiers on.

  • Base and edge are twice the thickness of a standard ski for extreme durability and impact resistance
  • 4D Fibercap construction adds strength and stiffness
  • Maple Macroblock Core for light weight, durability and long lasting camber
  • Early Rise tip for increased float in deep snow
  • Early Taper technology reduces tail hooking in powder while increasing float at the nose

Bottom Line: The original.

Excellent, RIP THE POW!

These ski's are excellent. I bought these new to take out west to Snowbird, Park City, Canyons, and Alta. They handled great during many different snow conditions. On our first day it was 65 degrees at Park City Ski Resort. These ski's handle slush great! These are a 90% powder ski and a 10% groomer ski... However, I only brought one pair of skis on the trip. On our second day at Canyons it dumped 14-20" overnight and during the day. These ski's were absolutely amazing on deep powder. I was able to literally bomb down the 9990 part of the mountain at crazy speed. Carving was effortless. Traversing was easy.

About mid-day the snow started getting skied out. Even though this is normally a problem, I was able to charge piles of skied off snow at 15-20 mph without falling over or sinking. Mean while skiers around me were sinking and falling over left and right. I highly recommend these skis for powder conditions.

I did ski these on the groomers on both packed powder and slush. They handled decently there as well, though they were not great for this condition. It was well worth skiing these however since in the pow they tore it up. I cannot stress how effortlessly you cruise with early rise. Lean back a bit in the deep stuff and this ski literally pulls up out of the snow and starts slashing it. These ski's also tore it up at Snowbird, especially on the Mineral Basin area and the front cliff ledges to the right of the tram. Again, amazing ski's. Line is an amazing company.

I previously was a Rossignol fan, but have grown tired of their ridiculous prices for ski's that aren't all that great. I did consider getting the S7 instead of this ski, but thought I'd go with his as well and I am not disappointed with my decision.

Also, I am 6'0" about 190 ish, and got the 186's. I do not recommend anyone around 6 feet tall get a powder shorter than 186. You really want the float that a 186 gives you.

Fun ski.

Only got about 2 runs on these, but they were super fun. Wide ski took a little getting used to, but once it was down, these things were a blast. Stable, and fun in the few inches we had received. I can only imagine how fun they would be in a couple feet of blower.

Great Big Ski

I own the non-rockered version of this ski from a few years back, but I have skied enough skis this size with rocker and have skied my ski enough, that I know how rocker will have changed this ski.

I love how stiff this ski is, it really allows you to charge stuff that would be more difficult on other skis. The fat platform really makes it stable. The ski is also easy to turn on groomers (for its size) which is amazing. The rocker will make its turning ability on groomers be a little more difficult. The rocker will make the ski a little more stable in choppy snow though.

My one gripe with this ski is that the turn radius is only 18m. Sure, that makes it turn pretty well on groomers, but when you drop a larger cliff you will notice that if you aren't completely centered on your ski the sidecut will try to engage causing you to turn when you don't necessarily want to. You do get used to it fairly well on the ski and it doesn't effect you too badly.

I thought that I would never use this ski, since I own ARG's for powder days and S6's for my everyday bird ski..but I ended up using the Prophet 130 more often than my S6's last year! The Prophet 130 is fat enough for the deepest powder and versatile enough to use as an every day ski on the west coast!
