The ruggedLife-Link Variant Ski/Probe Pole features a mix of aluminum and steel for lightweight durability. This pole features releasable wrist straps that reduce the risk of injury as well as deep burial in an avalanche scenario. The Variant converts to a 211cm probe poll for emergency situations and features ovalized aluminum upper sections for maximum security once adjusted.
Bottom Line: A scrappy workhorse ski/probe pole for long, hard seasons in the mountains.

I am using the SAME Life Link pole for the past 8 years (~ 60 days a year) and it is still kicking. i have replaced a few little parts but this is the BEST pole i have ever used.
