The Teton Backcountry Ski Pole offers mountain enthusiasts an adjustable pole at a great price and comes from one of the most trusted names in backcountry travel: Life-Link. The fully adjustable two piece Life-Link Teton pole has an aluminum upper and lower and adjusts from 30 to 51 inches making it packable, versatile, and great for use by growing kids. The Teton comes with 3.5-inch powder baskets but it still can be used as a trekking pole in the summer. For winter adjustments on the fly the Teton has a friction patch for positive grip when locking in position.

Bottom Line: Not everyone wants to spend a $100 on a dependable, adjustable backcountry ski pole. Now you don't have to.

How can I get the bottom section of this pole? I managed to bend mine (getting on a chair lift - drat!). Great pole otherwise. Great for tele and backcountry skiing.

Great ski poles - Teton Backcountry Life-Link

By:
August 13, 2009

I love my Teton Backcountry Life-Link poles and was very upset when I managed to see one bend as I was getting on a chairlift in PerisherBlue (Australia). Until then I'd used them in Japan and Australia last season and half of this season. What I like about them is the weight, the ability to adjust to the length I want and, not to mention the look! After a long uphill haul (I use at 52" or 130cm) they easily adjust for the tele ski (I use at 42" or 105cm) down the hill. And for resort skiing I never leave them outside when I go in for coffee, I adjust them to the shortest length and take them inside with me - they fit in my jacket or in my pack. Great poles for the price and weight. Just need to make them bend proof!! I hope I can buy the bottom section separately.
