The Life-Link Slopemeter is a useful tool to measure slope angle in steep terrain. The shaded area shows the angle at which avalanches are likely to occur. On the back is a Slopemeter topograph that allows you to determine slope angles from map contours. This is a sophisticated, inexpensive tool, and you will find it SUPER handy.
Bottom Line: Don't forget, 38º is extra scary.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.
