Light, Sturdy, Adjustable. What more could you ask.

So far I've only been able to use these hiking but... They're half the weight of my previous trekking poles, they are only 2 inches longer (from three section to two section, that's not bad). And they're plenty long for anything I want to do with them to include setting up my tarp. The locking system does hang up in the tube occasionally, but this is a lot less annoying that the pole collapsing 1/2 way through a ski run (which happend with my Leki poles). Overall, Outstanding so far. We'll see how they hold up after I climb Ranier.

I used these poles on a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in January and was quite pleased with them. They do seem to have a low swing weight and I was very glad I had them. I tried a fellow hiker's Black Diamond poles and preferred these. The only thing I can think of to improve them would be an integrated camera screw mount on one of them for use as a monopod, and maybe the ability to adjust the wrist straps more tightly. But overall, I'd buy these poles again. Adjustments were easy yet secure. In fact, they were easily able to support my entire weight (180 pounds with pack) without slipping.

Great poles. Very light. They stay extended much better than previous pair that used a knob that stuck through holes.

These poles are 48" long max, not 49" as advertised. They weigh 16.4 ounces, not 14 ounces as advertised.

I talked to Life-Link, and they acknowledged that this is all true. So why don't they change their ad copy?

49" is a tad short for me, but I was going to try and make it do. But 48" is definitely too short, so I am sad.

Other than that, they are truly great poles, perhaps the best there is.

The poles performed well both on a steep approach involving dirt, talus, and slabs, and also during glacier travel for balance. The carbide tips stick great in all terrain, and the poles are super light, yet durable.

Used them on two, month long treks this summer and they shined on all terrain (esp. river crossings, snow fields, steep descents and travel on loose terrain) we encountered. Very light and super dependable. Can't wait to whip them out for the winter.
