The Lib Tech TRS BTX Snowboard's Banana Technology (rocker between your feet) gives it unreal float in the powder and feels loose and catch-free when you butter boxes or rails. The TRS BTX’s medium-stiff flex and firm nose and tail help ensure solid landings and smooth riding, even through the crud.

  • Banana Tech lets you stomp your board flat for tip-to-tail edge contact and enhanced control
  • Magne-Traction increases edge control, even on bulletproof hardpack
  • The wood core with Golden Fleece reinforcement provides unreal pop
  • Golden Fleece (basalt fiber) is stronger and less toxic than fiberglass
  • Double-sintered UHMW sidewalls take a thrashing and still look handsome
  • TNT base is fast and easy to maintain
  • Winner of a TransWorld Snowboarding 2010 Good Wood award

Bottom Line: Is that a banana between your feet, or are you just glad to see snow?

Im 6'1" 190 been riding for 5 seasons and just getting my 180 and 360s tights on flats and very small kickers...currently ride a custom x 164 which i find very stable in deep pow..but i do find it tough doing tricks..im decent in the moguls when they come up..i tried this board in 159 but found it a little trying in the deep stuff but alot easier buttering and doing tricks...i mostly freeride but like the park too... havent tried it in hard pack or crud because it keeps dumping here in vail!!! Im considering getting it though..any thoughts

LIB board RIP period! you'll LOVE this board. we're pretty close in weight and I rode a SK8 banana 159 for 40+ days last season and it was FUN for EVERYTHING!!! keep in mind one thing about Lib boards is that the base will be "slower" than your Custom X... This Year I'm ridin' the Custy Vrocker and I have to admit, Burton bases are da sh*t...

I've been thinking about replacing my 156 2003 burton custom

I've been thinking about replacing my 156 2003 burton custom limited with this board but have a few questions. I wear a size 11 1/2 boot and am concerned about width. I am 5'11" and 150lbs , I mostly ride all mountain with most of the time spent in back bowls in colorado. Would a 157 board work for me?

just took mine out for a first ride and all i can say is... wow. it holds edges beautifully, has plenty of pop, and butters nicely. By far the most fun board to ride i've owned.

I'v been shopping around for a new board for about a year

I'v been shopping around for a new board for about a year now, and I'v definitely decided on lib-tech, but im having trouble deciding on a length and whether or not to go wide, I currently ride a regular burton elite 162, it feels to be just about the right size, but i'v been told that with libs you can ride a bit shorter. so im wondering if i should go for 159 or stick with 162. Im about 6' 170 or so. any advice would be great, thanks!

Depends on where you ride, steep and deep, go longer, park laps everyday, go shorter. I ride a skate banana and while they say your can size down, I think you may as well stick with your normal sized board.

Seriously though, if you are cruising groomers or you really like to ride fast and deep, you want to go with the longer stick for stability. If you ride park, or jib around and play a lot, go shorter.

The total ripper series never fails to impress me. My brother just bought this board, and I stole it last week and took it for a ride on the mountain. All i can say is that once you go BTX you never go back. Such a fun snowboard.

Yes, absolutely. I'm about 5'4" and 140, and ride an 08 TRS MTX 151. I haven't ridden the BTX, so I can't speak to that, but I ride just about everything (outside the park at least) from high speed groomers to "new pair of underwear" doubleblacks on my board with no issues whatsoever. I find the 151 is a good compromise between GS-speed stability and tight-tree maneuverability, especially since its a little bit on the stiffer side. With the MTX, it traverses ice no problem, but also smears the soft stuff quite well, which lends it an almost surfy feel. That being said, I'm much more into moguls than most snowboarders (which is to say I don't hate them, and actually actively pursue them). So, if you don't care about mogul or tree performance (or you like to hit rails and boxes periodically, even though the skate banana is a better deck for that), you could go a tad bit bigger and get slightly better float and stability.

TRS BTX

I just had this shipped in to Aus,the board is awesome.
The magnetraction just locks you in when your doing speeds on the hardpacked ice- you can really feel whats going on underneath you and it just sticks!. I thought I would catch edges alot easier, but it allowed me to spin out of it, and not go over the top. It is so stable. My previuos 2 boards where Burton Condom and Burton Un Inc board. So I have something to compare it against. The TRS is quicker and still very playful when you want to jib. It is just an excellent board.

TNT base is awesome. I have the 08 TRS and it truly needs less maintenance (waxing) than a sintered base. Very fast and durable- hardly a scratch on the base from a full season of riding. If you keep it waxed normally, you won't have a problem. My friends have the skate banana and the TRice. Both those boards have sintered bases. We all waxed with the same brand (Bluebird). Both got slower throughout the day due to wax shedding off more quickly. The TRS kept its speed over multiple days (a full 6 in a row!) with no need for waxing. They almost had to do a full wax every 2 days. The Lib sintered bases appear to need a more thorough waxing. You can't go wrong with the TNT if you don't like to wax a lot.

Best Board I've ever ridden

By: Backcountry.com Employee

This board kills it! I have been riding the 154 in every type of condition from 3+ feet of pow at the bird, to spring jib days for the past three years. The banana tech makes a smaller board ride bigger in the pow, and super maneuverable in chop. The magna traction lets you carve up hard pack of groomers like a warm knife through butter. This is my go-to board for any condition. You will not regret buying this deck!

Hey Guys,

I think I'm settled on the TRS BTX but am really up in the air between the 154 or the 157. Any input you guys can give me would be much appreciated. I'm right in the middle weight wise (155 lbs) and have been riding a RIDE 156cm for the last 5 years or so. So the question remains, 154 or 157??? I'm not in the park much and prefer just cruising through the trees. Any ideas? Pros/Cons? Will I even notice anything?

I am 5' 10" and about 140. I ride the 154 in everything from overhead pow days to groomer days at Snowbird. The BTX makes a smaller board ride bigger in pow and still allows you to be able to move in chop or on groomers. Hope this helps

Thanks man. I bet in the long run I won't even notice the difference between 3cm, I'm just getting neurotic about the decision. I'll pull the trigger and just do it already. I can't go wrong with Lib Tech right?

Sounds to me like you should go with the 157. This extra length will help you plow through some deeper snow and slush. If you were focusing on park more, the 154 will do fine.

TRS BTX...hmmm

By:
February 10, 2010

Lib Tech has become one of the biggest players in a growing sport and hobby...Their BTX and magnetraction is evidence of evolving technologies. Coming from a standard cambered Never Summer TITAN, my feelings are mixed about this the TRS. Although I went 2 cms shorter and did NOT set back the bindings on the TRS, I felt the float was just as good as my titan. That being said, even after 4 full days, I never felt "comfortable" on groomers and cat tracks. I never fully caught any edges, but felt the TRS was very significantly less stable at speed and on groomers than the Never Summer flagship all mountain board.
I'm sure many will enjoy the Lib Tech, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the durability of this board. Being used to the magnificent machining of the titan, I was very very upset that after 4 days in powder and groomed slopes (no park), the Lib Tech looked tore up...cracked topsheet, rusty edges, etc...and i treat all my equipment with utmost respect...THere is a reason Never summer has the best warranty in the land...3 freakin years...I will never buy a non NS board again... ;o)
