I'm sorry but what would be the right length in boards should I get a 161 or 157? Based on the convoy below?

**EDIT*** I stand corrected..

I don't see 161 in the list of what's in stock for board length, so I'm assuming you meant 157 or 169.

The 157cm will be more fitting for freestyle riding.

I just talked to my buddy in Colorado. He's been snowboarding a lot longer than me, as well as more frequently. He is the same size as you and uses a 155cm. I use a 159 and I'm 5'11" 155lbs. He recommended the 157cm.

I am trying to decide between the skunk or trs. I'm 6 foot 180 pounds and wear a size 13 shoe. I'm not sure which way to go and if and when I do get it what size board should I get of either?

Hey there... I have the same size boot and the most important spec for you to watch is the waist width... A rule of thumb for me is 26.5cm or bigger... so of the two boards you are wondering about, the skunk ape for sure!

I am 6'5" 215 lbs , size 13 boot, and I currently ride an 8 year old burton baron 172. Will the 172 skunk ape be the right choice for my "freeride" (everything but tricks in the park) tendencies and size?

With a size 13 boot you will need to get the widest board out there. Make sure you check the dimensions for the waist. Your toes will probably hang over while carving if your rear binding is set close to zero. The waist measurement is 268mm at its narrowest... so if you are size 13 you may still have overhang problems. Look around for binding lifters... Palmer used to make some a while back. They help people with long feet.

I found the following site helpful setting up my Nidecker Ultralight wide 167. I use a forward stance to make sure my toes and heels don't drag when I carve.

I am identical to your size and I am ride a banana traction wide 158. Just came from 2+ ft. of snow in Jackson Hole and I was quite happy with it's performance. We may ride differently so then longer might be better for you but the shorter board allows me to whip it around though the tree while in the powder and also still flows nicely. It really depends on what you like and how you ride.

Anything I have ever heard from guys i talk to in shops who have riden these boards, (C2 bananas w/ magnatraction) is that the technology is so far ahead of any other board that you can go much smaller than what you think you would normally ride. They ride the powder like nothing and shread the groomers with ease. In other words, dont thin you have to go as big as you may have in the past.

I would go longer. I got a Nidecker 167 Ultralight wide for this season. I am 6-3 235lbs boot size 11. Much more stable on curves than my old Arbor Crossbow 166.
