161cm : Everyone who discusses this board goes on about how great it is in the powder. Well, I'm sure it is wicked awesome. However, I have not had a single powder day this season, as I purchased this board near the end of it. Hard Packed: Awesome. Groomers: Awesome, very responsive and fluid. Ice: I think this board saved my ass several times when I got in the shadows on Spring days. So far, I've had fair to poor conditions and I love this board. I have thrown some tricks and landed some 4-8 ft drops/ jumps on hard packed snow and this thing absorbs and drives forward. I can tell that when conditions allow, this board will truly perform. Stoked! ***Also, I only weigh about 150 lbs. I always ride a longer board. I've got long feet and I'm about 5'10". This board is still lighter and more snappy than anything I've owned. The Magna Traction is better than the early designs. The reverse camber is subtle and lends to a very responsive board with positive traction in the turns. Good Job Lib Tech. . . You've got it figured out. With the reduced weight of the HP construction, it is very quick to respond and recover. I predict I will be able to ride more aggressively than previously possible on this board in good conditions. (One possible negative): Only rumor, though it sounds logical. . . The HP construction is great, but it MAY break down a bit sooner than the standard construction. Time will tell. I love the light weight construction though. Great board. Get stoked.
Tried it, liked it
Rode this for a couple of hours on a demo, really impressed. Edge hold was better than my Turbo Dream, traversing was effortless.
I originally had the regular Skunk Ape but after having to swap it out I decided to upgrade to the Horse Power model. This is a really great board it powder. Even as heavy as I am (220lbs) I feel like I just float across the powder with insane speed.
I don't have any issues riding on groomers and keeping an edge. I like to ride straight and fast with the mixed in harsh turns and she works like a champ.
this board charges
Great board. First time riding rocker - its great. Ofcourse it can be a little squirrelly on the flats, but nothing major. I feel it does well in all conditions, but stronger in the POW than the ICE. I ride the 169 and this thing absolutely charges. You can feel the HP!
powder yay! hard snow/ice nay!

I like this board in powder and soft snow
dislike on hard groomers and harder snow can't seem to hold an edge well
I think its because of the camber and serrated edges
and the board being too soft for hard carving I think
Gets the job done
The board performs great in powder. It is even better on groomers/packed snow, allowing me to get a good grip while speeding down the mountain and through turns. Very happy with it. It is very responsive. I highly recommend it, especially for big footers.
Stance setback 5 inches not 0.5 inches

- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I recieved this board and realized the stance setback is noticable. So i went to LIB online and sure enough it says this board has a 5 inch stance setaback, while the Skunk Ape w/o horsepower is a 0.5 inch setback. Backcountry got it wrong on their description. Also, this board is way more noodly than the Skunk Ape, the Skunk Ape is stiffer even though the manufacturer says they are both a 7 on a 10 scale of stiffness. I would say the Horsepower is a 6 and the Skunk Ape C2BTX is a 7 in terms of stiffness. I didnt want to give it a rating because i havent used either of them due to no effing snow in CO! The Skunk Ape feels more like a true twin and the Horsepower version is definetly a directional pow board.

I love this board, combines the burly all mountain attitude of the Skunk Ape with the playfulness of the Dark Series. I only have a couple days on this board but so far it is amazing. Very stable at speed, carves beautifully, just a great board for a bigger guy.
This board is what ive been wanting, being bigger its hard to find this light of a board ..... stoked to have er for the season
