    Supreme stability for big riders.

Named after the gargantuan stature of the Pacific Northwest's legendary Sasquatch, the Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2-BTX Wide Snowboard is likewise suited for the largest riders seeking high-speed stability, effortless float, and all-terrain versatility, all without pesky toe drag sapping you down on aggressive carves. In fact, the Skunk Ape is drastically wider than your standard deck, easily accommodating riders with feet sized 12 and up. Plus, it's available in a wide array of larger sizes, running to a massive 180-centimeters in length for big-gun performance when you're charging steeps and slashing through waist-deep powder.

The key to the Skunk Ape's big-mountain prowess and all-terrain versatility lies within its directional twin shape and C2-BTX profile. It's set-back slightly (0.5-inch) for enhanced float and  straight-line stability, without sacrificing its ability to ride and land switch, thanks to a twin-like shape. The C2-BTX profile provides the benefits of Lib's famous "Banana Rocker" between the feet, blended with camber running from the binding inserts to the tip and tail. This gives you the catch-free feel and effortless float of a rocker board, but without the lack of stability inherent to fully rockered designs. Moreover, camber underfoot provides the snappy feel and powerful drive desired by bigger riders looking to charge everything from alpine steeps to mellow tree runs.

Inside this hard-charging board, the Skunk Ape C2-BTX features a blended wood core with Aspen/Paulownia/Columbian Gold for extra strength and lively response. Birch internal sidewalls reinforce the board along the inside edges for extra stability on edge. UHMW external sidewalls are practically bombproof, lending the board extra strength against impact. Other key features include Lib's Magne-Traction edges for aggressive edgehold, as well as an Eco Sub TNT base for low-maintenance glide across varying snow conditions, ranging from icy hardpack to bottomless powder.

    Shreds!

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This thing is awesome I finally replaced my lib from 10 years ago and this thing is crazy.. I did get the skunk ape with HP and I got it in the 170 ultra wide!! I'm a big guy and wear size 15 burton boots and I have no heel or toe overhang at all!! I paired it with the union fc bindings and the whole setup Shreds so hard!! Carving is so easy and buttery and the board has good pop.. it's very fast and also very light! If you have big feet and want a great board this is the one!!! Also thanks to Sarah St. for all the help getting my setup ordered! Backcountry is the best in the biz.

    Awesome all-around board.

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

If you're rocking bigger boots, look no further than the Skunk Ape for a rip-anything board that's incredibly stable and snappy. I'm riding the 157W, as I have a size 11.5 boot and weigh approximately 150lbs. With my weight being on the lower end of the scale for this size board, it feels a bit stiffer, but it's actually softening up slowly as I ride the board more (have only 7-8 days on it thus far).

C2-BTX is great for carving, as the added camber underfoot helps you drive into turns without it being as washy as the regular Banana profile. Since there's rather aggressive Magne-Traction edges, edge hold is superb across all snow conditions I've encountered thus far, even boilerplate ice and scraped-clean sections at the resort.

I recently tested it out in some of the deepest powder I've ridden in years (20in + overnight) and the board floated incredibly well! The combination of rocker + slight set-back + wider shape seems to plane easily in the deep stuff without the tendency to nose-dive like my shorter park boards. Overall, I'd recommend this deck to anyone who's serious about freeriding, cruising at the resort, and generally riding everything but non-stop park laps.
