Description
The blue-collar board built for big dudes.
Remember that blurry, shadowy figure you saw ripping through the woods last winter? That was Sasquatch, and he was riding the Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2 BTX Wide Snowboard. Our furry friend usually keeps a low profile, but he came out of hiding long enough to help Lib Tech develop the ultimate all-mountain freestyle board for lumberjack-sized shredders. The C2 hybrid camber profile, snappy-yet-stompable flex, and a sustainably-farmed Columbian Gold core all keep Mr. Squatch happy while he shreds through the enchanted forest.
- C2 hybrid-camber profile uses fun, loose rocker between your feet with stable, responsive camber from the bindings to the tips for a poppy, reactive ride
- Magne-Traction serrated edges add contact points to improve edge hold in firm snow
- Fiberglass/basalt fiber blend improves dampening and pop while reducing environmental impact
- Medium-stiff flex for a responsive ride that won't punish you for trying new tricks
- Sustainably farmed Columbian Gold core is engineered to maximize pop and minimize weight
- Eco-friendly bio-plastic topsheet made from castor beans

Anyone who owns this board please state your height/weight, board size, and riding style. Are you happy with the size you purchased? I'm riding a 164 right now at 6'4 185 lbs. I'm thinking about picking up the skunk ape in 161 for quick response on those narrow tree runs. Lemme know what you guys think!

Going from a traditional camber to the camber rocker system is a world of difference. This board boost up your confidence level and with the Magne-Traction the grip that you get down the slope is unbelievable. The edge to edge quickness was surreal. I set up with a supper wide 15/15 stance on the 165 and even in powder I was able to float over it with ease. I also greatly enjoyed the amount of pop that this board has. I can make tiny bumps into awesome kickers. Another bonus is the artwork. A zombie Bob Ross is pretty awesome. Definitely getting another after this one!

I really loved this board. Everything about it made it a blast to ride. If it wasn't for some unforeseen issues with mine I would still own one but I decided to upgrade to the Skunk Ape horsepower. Again, this is a great board.

At 6'3", 225 pounds and size 12 feet there aren't a whole lot of boards out there that will work for me. I've been riding Lib for years but finally decided it was time to step down from my Skunk Ape C2 BTX 172 and get onto something a little more 'playful'. First day out I was throwing f/s and b/s 3's off of every little hit, something I hadn't tried in a long time. I'm so stoked I made the move to a shorter board, I only wish I had done it a few years ago. With the C2 BTX I get the float I need for pow with the camber for groomer power. Throw in some Magna-Traction and you're ready to slay whatever the mountain throws at you.

I'm 6'7" 230 lbs with size 14 boot. Prior to this board, I rode a 177 cm and I bought the 172. It's a world of difference in terms of maneuverability and control. I'm a intermediately-skilled rider, but was able to hit some nice kickers and felt empowered to try more than I ever have on this board. I also tried the 169 but it was a bit too short for me (I found it a little twitchy and really sank down into the powder). The Magne-Traction makes holding a line noticeably different. I'm a convert and would recommend this board to any other big rider.
Awesome ride

I have only been riding a few years and wanted to upgrade from my Ride Antic. The Antic was pretty awesome but had limitations, especially in the park.
The skunk ape is just an awesome ride. Totally responsive. Makes everything just that much easier and it is pretty tough to catch an edge when you don't want to.
I expected the upgrade to be barely noticeable at my skill level, but I can really tell the difference and it adds that much more confidence whether buttering or hitting jumps. Nothing bad to say at all.
Hey Big Foot. Buy this board!

This is my second Skunk Ape and I could not be happier. Well maybe I could if they built a Camber Version. My only gripe is the board has a pretty huge turning radius and it is not as poppy as the '08 cambered version. Regardless I would recommend this to any big guy with big feet looking to get one board to handle it all.

This thing is an absolute beast!! Pow, crud, groomers it craves speed and charges hard. Best board i've ever riden. Put about 25 days on the beast from Vail, Breck, Keystone, Northstar, Heavenly to Wolf creek. Thing is absolutely sick in waist deep pow. Big feet, heavy.. what are you waiting for buy it!

It all depends on where you are and what kind of riding you do. 180 is a LOT of board; at one point I rolled the Lib Doughboy 193 but it was more of a novelty. I've just stepped down from the 172 to the 165 and am happy with the smaller board (me: 6'3", 225#). You'll get a ton of float out of the 172 with out all that extra weight/length of the 180.

I am 6'6", weigh 250 lbs. and wear a size 13 boot. I have been snowboarding for over 20 years and ridden a lot of different brands.
I put just over 30 days at Snowbird (2011/2012) on the Skunk Ape 180cm. The skunk ape 180cm is THE BEST board I've ever ridden.
I am able to drop bigger drops without going over the nose in deep fluff, keep my edge on those ice days, and still chuck it around like a true twin freestyle.
I love this board!
