Lib Tech’s Skate Banana Original BTX is a snowboard that needs no introduction. But what the hell, we’ll introduce it anyway. Combined with Magne-Traction edges, the industry-changing Banana Tech rocker shape makes for maximum freestyle fun on any terrain—from early-morning stash runs to icy parks to slushy dork-off laps with the crew.

  • Banana Tech features rocker between your feet and a flat tip and tail for a jibby, catch-free ride that still rips in the pow
  • H-Pop core uses a variety of lightweight woods for ollie power and durability
  • Magne-Traction edges add five contact points for extra control and turning power in all snow conditions
  • Sintered base helps you chase down your friends during on-hill games of tag
  • Soft flex between your feet, with a stiffer tip and tail improve pop and edge control
  • Available in yellow/green or grey/black…your choice!

Bottom Line: The rocker board that started a revolution.

Great Rocker

By:

This board is impressive! It is surprisingly responsive. I bought mainly for the park. One day, I got lazy and didn't switch out the board for my Neversummer Titan to do some trees and groomers. I was a bit hesitate riding it in these conditions, but the board impressed me through the powder as others here have said.

The only thing I'm not 100% happy (A personal preference) with is that the edges do not wrap around the full length of the board. I have a few dings on it. But then again...It is a jib board. I can see the benefits without an edge all the way around.

Awesome Board!

I ride this board on powder days because of the Reverse camber and it works great! I've also taken it into the park a few times and have been happy with it! I see this board all over the mountain and everyone who I've talked to who rides this board loves it!

Hi guys, I have been looking at the skate banana for 2 years

Hi guys, I have been looking at the skate banana for 2 years and am getting more serious about buying one. I mostly ride park and groomers. I would also like to try powder though. I am 5'9, projected to be about 6'. I have a 9.5 size shoe and weigh 150 lbs. What is a good size that will last me awhile?

159 would be money. I'm bigger than you but prefer a smaller board and the 159 is my daily driver in all conditions. You might be able get away with a 156 at your weight on a skate banana since it rides bigger but I would totally recommend a 159.

Like a dream!

As great as advertised! Best board I have ever ridden. I started to dedicate most of my time this season in the park and it performs like a champ. Handles itself on pow like a surfboard on water. Unbelievable on ice as well. I'm Banana and Magne-traction for life!

Hey guys quick question about the skate banana: I want to start

Hey guys quick question about the skate banana:
I want to start trying out the park a little but i'm not going to spend all my time there. I'm 5'9, 165 lbs and have a 9.5 boot size, Does anyone know if the 154 would be a good size for me?

I'm a 9.5 and ride a 152 with a 15 -15 stance at the skinniest part of the board. You should have no problems fitting on it.

too good to be true

best board ive ever had, but then again its my second. the first was a darkstar, but when i switched to this sweet banana, i could do 10x the things i couldnt do on the other. i used to not do butters at all, and now with this i get dizzy because of all the butters i can do. sometimes/usually when you turn you feel like your going to fall, which on my old board i would, but on this i dont i dont know why but its sweet. now, this is just when you turn to stop and wait for a friend who still hasent gotten down yet so its not just on normal turning or anything.

Yeah, this board is very forgiving. Especially after I detuned my tip and tail. I hardly fell when trying new ground tricks and spinning. And it just rides powder like it's a boat skipping on the waves! And it throws you up in the air when you hit a powder ripple.

The Best

By:
November 20, 2010

This board is filthy. Floats in pow like a dream, handles the park like a king, and rocks the groomers. Because of this board, i will never buy any board that doesn't have Magnetraction or Banana ever again. It's that good.

Father of the Rockers

By: Backcountry.com Employee
November 16, 2010

This board is the Father of The Rockers. IF you like to jib this board is for you. Pretty good pop. If you like to ride powder this work will do you one solid as well. Its great , very easy to ride and very fun to ride. Has good edge control but not recomended for very icy conditions. But other than that this board is the sh#t.

Fun for the whole damn fam

By: Backcountry.com Employee
October 29, 2010

For how soft this board is, it still pops and is super fun in most conditions. I've seen most of my friends give in and snag a banana and it seems like it makes them all better riders instantly. If you love to butter and do little hits all over the mountain, this is the board for you. The only time I wouldn't recommend this board is when the snow is bulletproof and you need a good edge because even though it has magnatraction, nothing holds like a cambered board.
Sizing: I'm 6' and 185 lbs, Size 11 boot (low profile with footprint of a 10) and I recommend a 156 wide. You can get away with a nonwide but with the shorter effective edge you will get washout on aggresive turns that will be necessary sometimes.
