Lib Technologies NAS Freeride Alpine Ski - 2008 BCS

I have spent two days on these skiis and I am very impressed. Unless in was absolute ice, these skiis did not chatter. Lots of fun. I like to go fast and the groomed trails, and when I need to stop fast or make a sudden turn, these things were with me all the way. The best all mountain ski i have ever heard of. The price may hurt, but you will end up with a nice ski in the end.

I was first introduced to this ski last Feb in Revelstoke, BC. as I was riding up the gondola, and I look over and see these wiggly edges. At first, I thought I was seeing things, but found out they were the "magna traction" edges on a ski made by a snowboard company. Evidently these were 06/07's all white, and were test skis. The guy was a ripper and loved the sticks. I did some research when I got back to the states as I was impressed. The guy also had over 100 days on them, so I felt comfortable they weren't going to blow apart on me . I would up buying the 07/08 188CM. FYI, one should note that while 188CM, with these twin tips, there is only 150CM of contact surface, which was why I went with the longer boards. (which is what I usually prefer anyway) I'm 5'-11, 185, 52, and when on skis, still think I'm in my 20's, lol. From what I have heard, there are no changes except graphics for the 08/09 NAS. I mainly ski in bounds or wander OB if it's not too much of a hike. I guess if I still lived out west, things would be different, so I mounted them up with Salomon 12 Ti's, which makes for an extremely light setup. Almost as light as my Atomic SD's. Once mounted, I immediately booked a trip to Summit Co. The Back bowls at AB were smooth windblown, w/light snow. These skis carved perfectly! Full control. Glad I got the 188's as they do ski short, at least to me. They turn on a dime with the extreme sidecut. Awesome at AB far right in the stubby trees on the steeps, which was chopped crud. The magna traction or wiggly edge really grips the hardpack as well, making these skis perform quite like a racing ski to some extent. I have always like the action of a wood core ski, so this ski was perfectly suited for my tastes. Then got 16" overnight at BC, and took the drive. Started out on Birds of Prey to get used to the pow. Conditions were low 20's, windy, snow heavy pow. The skis really want to come around on you. Tooks some getting used to and once i came out of my weight a bit earlier, things were great. Spent the remainder of the day far right trees OB. Was a fantastic day. I was really glad I left the SD's at home. I highly recommend these skis. A great idea from a snowboard company. After 2 big thumbs up, my cousin bought a pair. Hope this helps.

Lib Technologies NAS Freeride Alpine Ski is a great fatty ski for powder riding! With a 98mm-103mm underfoot (depends on length) you will definitely not have a problem with sinking in the powder. These skis have a sick design and they are a twintip ski so you will not have a problem landing switch after a truckdriver 900 of a huge cliff in the powder. For me these skis are too expensive, but if your looking Powder/freeride ski that looks sick go for this Lib!
