Like a gangster-ass wizard’s wand, the Lib Technologies Magic Horsepower NAS reCURVE Ski lets you turn ice into powder and pull off supernatural tricks all over the mountain. Head warlock Mike Olson conjured up Lib Tech’s new Horsepower construction, using basalt fiber and granite-infused castor bean materials for the topsheet and structural layers. The result is a lighter, stronger, damper ride with an aggressive snap and forgiving “Z spot” underfoot. Lib’s Magne-traction and All Terrain reCURVE rocker rule any snow condition like a level-5 dungeonmaster, and the versatile 100mm stomps landings like a pair of hobbit feet.

Bottom Line: Abracadabra bitches.

It is a flat entry rocker with a full shovel to the magne-traction. Accentuated by the depression of the camber. Flat exit as well. Subtle rockers, lots of camber.

great skis

these skis are basically narrow snowboards. lib tech put all the same features from their boards into their skis and they work really well. the skis can kill just about anything and are a fun ski to rock all over the mountain

How much does the ski weigh? Is there a place at BC.com where I can compare weights on all the skis?

Ha ha ha ha no. BC.com does not weigh any of their products, though that would be extremely helpful in deciphering how much each product weighs at different lengths! You hear that backcountry? Buy a scale. Answer some questions. Make some money.

Lib Technologies Magic Horsepower NAS Recurve Ski

I cannot afford this ski but did spend a full day on it at Snowbird at the end of last season and had a few thoughts. 1) The Magne traction actually does work very well when you hit icy spots. I've ridden a skate banana and these function very much the same way when you need a serrated edge to cut into harder crust all the way to ice. 2) I was curious how 100 at the waist would float in soft snow but it was plenty given the relatively dramatic rocker in this ski. 3) I sent big on these so I feel like they convey superpowers. These flex pretty stiff - nothing like my rossi RC112's but stiffer than an S7... maybe in line with my Surface One Life. Overall a strong recommend if you've got some coin to spare.

Anybody used any of the magna traction skis with a tele set up.

Anybody used any of the magna traction skis with a tele set up. Have only used the lib tech snowboards. Seems good in principle, don't have to strugle as much to get power into the front of the ski to initiate the turn, and the boards are definately more stable. Don't know how ill ever get to demo a pair with tele bindings though, so any feedback would be great.

The regular Lib Tech NAS freeride has a bit more pop, and it is a more pricepoint oriented NAS, with same shape and similar flex. The Magic might be better at very high speeds. My friend here in the Cascades rides em religiously...mounted close to the recomended location. The POW series is 15 mm more underfoot and still feels solid on piste. Teles well too. Floats but still goed deep if you like, and made here in the USA.
