Watching Mark Landvik ride is like seeing a bull rider in his element―the guy makes deadly lines look impossibly easy. Inspired by Lib's now-defunct, pow-oriented Mullet, he enlisted the help of Jamie Lynn, and they came up with the Lib Tech Brando by Lando C2 BTX snowboard. When two of snowboarding's hardest charging icons collaborate on a board, you'd expect it to remain composed at wide-open speeds and on exposed lines, and the Brando delivers. The directional, tapered shape and some of Lib's finest tech keep the Brando mowing down everything from blower powder to icy crud. Powerful riders looking for a directional stick for deep days can stop searching. The Brando is ready, let's hope you can keep up.
The Brando is built on Lib's C2 BTX profile. That means there's rocker between your feet and camber in the tip and tail. The end result is a board that floats effortlessly and rips powerful turns. Magne-Traction place seven bumps along the edges, for crazy grip regardless of snow conditions. The bumps are bigger between the feet, which concentrates most of the grip there for a ride feeling that's a lot like a skateboard. The tapered shape features two and a half inches of setback for gobs of directional, high speed stability. But unlike many other pow-sticks, the rounded tail and C2 profile mean that landing switch is still an option.
The Colombian Gold core uses sustainably harvested wood for a board that's light and snappy. Power Transfer internal sidewalls crank up the durability, and they're buffered by UHMW external sidewalls for impact resistance. The sintered base soaks up tons of wax to keep the Brando running fast like a wolf pack on the hunt. Best of all, you can rest easy knowing that your snowboard was built in the USA in an environmentally friendly factory by snowboarders with jobs.
