Bright and beautiful.
The second largest of the company's beautiful and technically excellent LED Sport lights, the Lezyne Macro Drive Headlight is still very compact and light for how incredibly bright it is, and with a host of smart features, it's as easy to live with as it is to admire.
The most obvious difference between the Macro Drive and other lights is the CNC-machined aluminum body. It's not just pretty, but tough, too: in the event that you take a spill, the Macro Drive can handle it. The machined aluminum body also dissipates heat, which can damage LED bulbs over time. The light sports a redesigned power button that increases the headlight's water- and weather-resistance. The new power button hides the green and red LEDs that allow you to easily monitor the battery's level of charge. When the headlight is on, the indicator (locator on top of the light housing) will be either green, red, or flashing red to indicate its state. The Macro Drive is also equipped with Lezyne's Maximum Optical Reflection one-piece internal reflection technology. The result is a light with fewer parts and a smoother, wider beam, and a safer ride.
The Lezyne Macro Drive Headlight comes in Black and Polish finishes and is compatible with 31.8mm or 25.4mm road or mountain handlebars with the included mount. The package includes rechargeable Li-ion batteries and a USB charger.

Works for me
I bought this light for several reasons: Rechargeable, the polished silver finish, the max 600 lumen output, and the multiple settings, including flash. It hits the mark on all of those requirements. Compared to my other rechargable Cygolites, the Lezyne is a much nicer looking light, and far easier to quickly mount for a ride. Mounting is important to me because I have several bikes and often ride several different bike during a week. With the Cygolites, I had to buy extra mounting brackets for each bike. I don't like the look of an empty bracket when I ride during the day, an issue that the Lezyne nicely solves with its fully integrated mounting system. From a performance standpoint it works fine for my application which is riding a 12 mile city bikepath along the river at 5:30 am, that is used by runners and bicyclists. Parts of the path have overhead lights, and other parts are relatively dark and under a heavy tree cover. So I can easily switch from high beam to low beam or blink, depending on where I am on the path. The light throw is fairy narrow, which is fine for a bike path, but might be inadequate for single track riding in the woods, even on high. Battery life is fine, but as I only ride for an hour or so, running out of juice is not a problem I worry about. Overall I am very pleased with both the price and the performance.
