Simple, straightforward trekking poles.

You're looking to add some support to your hike, not reinvent the proverbial hiking wheel. The Leki Trail Trekking Trekking Pole offers a clean and ready-to-use design that won't have you fumbling with gauges and the like rather than hitting the trail. Thanks to a 15-degree ergonomic grip, your hand won't be contorted into an unnatural, fatigue-inducing position. A Roundtop Soft grip evenly distributes hand pressure, and a Super Lock System keeps your pole height at your chosen setting for an uphill push or flatland cruise.

Nice trekking poles

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I usually take one of these with me when I'm going on a fairly steep hike and enjoy the added stability while descending. The poles are light, quick to collapse/extend, and comfortable on the hands. The probe is quite sharp, which helps keep it from sliding out when on hard surfaces. Also makes a great baton!

how small do these collapse down to. Are they short enough I can clip them to a pack? Thanks.

Hey Joe,

They collapse down to 25.6". They'll strap on to your pack without any problem, but there are shorter models in both Leki and from Black Diamond. What works in terms of both collapsed length and price is up to you to decide.

LEKI / Trail Trekking Trekking Poles

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great poles for the money, spent 42 miles hiking Glacier National Park, up hill, downhill hill over Sperry Glacier in the snow not one problem. Young man on the phone was dead on with his recommendation for a great pole at great value.

Great for the price

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These poles are incredible. Very strong, light (for the price), and come with a very nice handle. If you want a great pair of trekking poles, but don't want to spring for the expensive ones, look no further. One thing that I'm not particularly crazy about is the material in the handle, it doesn't work well if you hands are sweating. My fiance doesn't agree though, so maybe I'm unique in that respect. Looking back, it might have been nice to spend a little more for the cork grip. That being said, it's never been enough of a problem to get something new.

Nice basic poles

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had a different set of Leki poles for a year and bought these so my wife and I don't have to share. It's a very nice basic set of poles. They're not ultralight, but they're light enough. The length is great (I'm 6'9"), and they've got shock absorption. Cork handles might be nice, but they're not worth the higher price, in my opinion. For the price, I think these are terrific. A friend's cheaper Mountainsmith pole broke. I've never had a problem with my Lekis and I don't baby them, especially trotting downhill. I don't think you can go wrong with these.
