Reach the top of the mountain with the aid of the Leki Summi Antishock Trekking Poles. These strong yet flexible poles are three section poles with the Classic Locking System, Carbide Flextips, Triple Spring Antishock System, and COR-TEC cork grips. Leki’s Automatic Comfort Strap adjusts to your preferred length and locks in place with a simple downward pull, so you can customize your hand placement based on the terrain you’re huffing over.
Bottom Line: Three shock settings for steep uphill, level ground, and hard descents.
This is my 2nd set of these poles. I like these poles for 2 reasons; cork grips and heavier weight. I like the feel of cork instead of the various other handles Leki makes. More importantly I like the heavier weight of the poles, it seems everyone I hike with wants the lightest pole out on the market. I weight 250lbs. with my backpack on, I've bent lighter poles to the point of ruining them in no time. I've bent one of these but it took 3 years to do it. I was able to rebend that pole and still use it today. You wouldn't even know it had taken such an impact if you look at it now. I bought the new pair but probably won't use them for a few years, I figure when I need a new pair this line will have been discontinued from production.
Best trekking poles I ever owned! The anti shock feature is great, much more comfortable than my Black Diamond. I hiked over a hundred miles and so far not a problem. The only thing I don't like is you have to buy the rubber tips separately. If you are into hiking and looking for something simple and not too expensive, this is it! I strongly recommend this product. Ready to get a second pair for my upcoming hiking trip!
I just bought a set of these poles, but wanted some feedback on the grip angle. I've read only enough to be dangerous, but these seemed to allow more of an agressive ascent, however does that affect your angle when decending?

I just got the Leki Summit Trekking Poles, and have used them on one 10 mile hike to try them out. The terrain varied from smooth trails to very rocky. Elevation from 600 ft to 1300 feet. These were my first use of any kind of trekking pole, and I loved them. I usually feel some slight strain on my knees and back (I am in my mid 30's), but not when using the poles. For the rocky areas and big inclines/declines, they offered more stability saving my ankles/knees/back from strain & potential injury. For flat areas, I fell right into a pace with them, allowing my arms a bit of a workout as well. All in all, it felt very natural.
I adjusted them to the proper height while at home, and haven't changed them. From what I understand, this is the "older" locking mechanism, and it wasn't as simple to use as I would have thought. But, it only took 10 minutes, and wasn't a problem after this.
I purchased three sets of these poles several months ago for general hiking and in anticipation of a March trip to the Grand Canyon. After having tried out a more expensive Leki model and a non-shock-absorbing model by Black Diamond, I settled on these rather basic, no-nonsense poles, and I have been very pleased with them after approximately 100 miles of hiking with them. The length adjustments are easy to make, and I have never encountered difficulties with the locks. Coming from the factory, the recoil spring on these poles is set rather stiffly, but I understand that it is possible to adjust this feature, though I've not looked at it closely nor have I sought out materials online from Leki that address it. Recently, when I last used these poles, there was a freezing mist falling that made the rocky and uneven ground over which I was walking rather slippery, with safety a real issue. I was very pleased to have my Leki poles to ensure stability. They worked beautifully. I have been very pleased with my purchase and I recommend these poles without reservation.
