Sierra Antishock Trekking Pole - 1 Pole

The solid wood knob on the top of Leki's Sierra Antishock Trekking Pole unscrews, so you can mount a scope, camera, or a Y-attachment for a hunting gun. This way, you get a hiking staff and a monopod in one adjustable pole. The Antishock system in the Sierra Trekking Pole absorbs impact, and the rubber tip won't click and clack on pavement and rockbed. Adjust this Leki walking staff to the right height for your legs or for that wildlife photo.

Bottom Line: Unscrew the knob and convert this walking staff into a monopod for cameras or scopes.

Used mine all season in 2009 and it was awesome. Lightweight, sturdy, strong... and doubles as a monopod for my camera! Plus the wooden knob on top is nice to hold onto while descending steeper grades. Love it.

Couldn't have done ancient Europe without it!

By:
December 11, 2009

I'm a baby boomer and my knees are getting bad. When DH and I decided to do a trip to Europe to visit ancient empires (Greece, Rome, Turkey), I knew that my knees would be taking a beating. I researched on the web and decided to buy the Leki Sierra. It was such a help! It's lightweight, folds up into a travel bag or backpack, is quite handsome, and the adjustable height (I like staff height, not cane height) was wonderful. We did a lot of climbing around (stairs, old roads, etc. in Ephesus and Athens) and most of the places in Europe don't have handrails. Descending steep steps without a handrail wouldn't have been possible without 'my stick'. It was a lifesaver. I can't tell you how many people walked up to me and asked me where I bought it. I could have sold a dozen on the spot! I accidentally left it in the cab in Athens (thankfully it was towards the end of the trip!) and really missed it. I ordered a new one within 24 hours of arriving home. And, I must say, I ordered mine from REI and they didn't discount the price. Get yours here!

Is this the Leki answer for - a "mature" female with vintage knees - moderate trail hiker who lugs along a camera almost everywhere.
I am 5'1" and want the model most suited for my stature if I can have it and the monopod feature as well if it is truly useable for OTG
photography (non professional) Thanks for any input

Great Durable Pole

By:
August 29, 2011

I've been using one for day hiking and geocaching since 2002 (2011 as I write this) and it's been great. Saved me from several falls and is great for pushing through the underbrush when caching. I've even use the camera mount once or twice. Love the classic style as well.

Dual use tool

By:

This is a great pole for easy trails where you plan to do a good bit of photographing. I use mine on scenic trails where the stability and power provided by dual poles isn't needed.
