Poles that adapt to the task at hand.

You'll be glad you have the Leki Micro Tour Stick Vario Trekking Poles when the approach is as rocky as it is long. The carbide flex tips absorb impact as you hike over rocky terrain, and their Aergon Thermofoam grips are easy on your hands when you're planting the poles on steep climbs. An extended EVA foam grip lets you choke up on the uphill pole when you're traversing a hillside, but the entire pole can also be adjusted between 43 and 53 inches when you need to adjust between the climb and descent. When you finally reach the final summit scramble, just break the poles down, put them in your pack, and free up your hands for that final exposed stretch to the summit.

    What a Disappointment

Was excited to receive the product based on description and video I watched. When I received and attempted to put the poles together, I soon discovered there was no way to lock the "joints" and the tension cord had NO tension. First time the stick hit a soft muddy patch of earth the pole is sure to come apart as soon as you attempt to draw the stick up in conjunction with your next step. Truly an engineering "turd"
