Leki made the Carbonlite Antishock Trekking Poles with their Soft Antishock System Lite, which reduces the weight of this pair of poles and limits the spring pitch to 10mm so there's no need for an on/off function. What that means is you won't have to mess with turning the anti-shock off when you hike uphill and back on when you're heading downhill, because these poles absorb shock when they need to (downhill) without stealing rebound energy from your pole plants on hard uphill sections. The positive angle on the grips of the Carbonlite Antishock Trekking Poles relieves stress on your wrist joints and optimizes swing action.

I tried a pair of these for the first time on a grueling 42 mile hike with 12K of elevation gain. I had never used hiking poles before but I was so glad I had them. They helped me so much on the uphill and also when I was getting woozy and clumsy from altitude and fatigue. Waht's nice abou the Leki's is that hte inside webbing straps on the handles had a nice soft lining so my wrists didn't get all chafed.
