Dude, if Skeletor had a Skeletool, He-Man would be skeletoast.

Weighing in at just 5 ounces yet still packing the crucial tools, the Leatherman Skeletool crushes other multi-tools into bone dust. This four inch multi-tasker with a stainless steel blade might save your life, or it might just help you look cooler. Leave the paper clips, mullets, defusing bombs, and hostage rescues to Angus MacGyver, and carry the Leatherman Skeletool for daily use.

    Very handy - pun intended

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this little thing. It has all the main features you would use in a multi-tool, without the stuff you never touch. A lot of thought went in to shape and design and for a lightweight tool this is killer.

    A bit big

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

To start off this is a very good every day knife. It is one of the only ones that has pliers, a good knife and a usable screw driver. All of the components seem to be very well made and it should last for a good long haul.

My only complaint about it is how big it is. I was hoping for something more along the lines of a key fob and it is closer to the size of two fobs length wise.

Overall a great tool, at a good price.

    loves it

this leatherman has been my friend for many years until i tried to clean it myself and wasnt able to put all the springs back in their place. so i got myself the exact same new one because it just is THE tool for everything and more. obviously it cant do everything. its a pragmatic tool that i never missed anything with. buy it!

Its pros and con's. Its pros and con's.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This tool is sharp!! Knife came very sharp. Minimal tools if you want a multi-tool item. It is heavy and has a clip if you want to clip it to a belt buckle. I say it is heavy. Its not heavy for the tools it has but is for a multi-tool item. I use it weekly. But I think there are better options out there. the knife is razor sharp. Truly. Cuts paper.

    Step up

I usually carry a Gerber Paraframe around with me. I wanted something that I could take with me that offered more than a blade, but didn't give me 45 other useless tools. This is the tool. I don't notice a bulge in my pocket, and it is light.

    Minimalist Multi-Tool

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Mine now sits somewhere in the depths of Flaming Gorge, but I loved it while it was around. I really liked this because it is a straight-to-business model without all the extra bullsh*t you'll never use.

If you prefer your multi-tools equipped with a magnifying glass and a spork, this isn't the one for you.

    Just what I wanted

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have worked as a river guide for a bunch of year now and have had and lost many multitools I love this one because it's a knife first. The screwdriver bits lock in and can't just fall out. The bottle opener is easy to use and it can be secured very well when needed with the caribineer. This is everything I wanted with nothing extra added.

Surprised how much I use this thing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this multi. I initially bought it as a back up stashed in my car or pack. I now keep this in my pocket all the time. It has really come in handy for quick work and is so light you won't mind carrying . None of the bells n whistles, but all the basics.

    Great Everyday Carry tool

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just got the Skeletool a few weeks ago and love it. So sleek and light. It is easy to forget it is clipped to your pocket. Knife is sturdy and sharp. The perfect tool.

    Love this knife!

I had one a few years ago, but lost it in a river. The new one I purchased came with a combo blade, so serrated on the back half, and straight edge on the end half. These will get just about anything done that you might need while out in the backcountry, and even around town!

      Always Carry.

Big fan of the Skeletool and Leatherman products in general.

Having owned multiple Leatherman products and iterations, I can say that this is my 2nd favorite (1st being the Skeletool CX). The design is simple, intuitive and has all of your essentials: Screwdriver w/interchangeable bits, knife, bottle opener, belt clip, pliers & wire cutters.

This isn't overly fancy and overloaded with unnecessary items (do you really need itty bitty tweezers?) like some other multitools. It has the essentials and that's it (yes, bottle openers ARE essential), If you find that you need anything other than what's provided in this tool, you might want to look towards actual workshop grade tools and devices. I always carry my CX version on my and this one in the glove compartment of my car.

        Highly recommended.

        Always Carry It

From keeping it safe in my minimal climbing backpack to having it handy while backpacking and backcountry skiing, this thing is always with me in the outdoors. I like many snagged it because of its look, but as most Leatherman tools are it's always useful in a pinch. I also like that it is fairly minimal and very light as well. Highly suggested.

          Spartanic

            Lightweight, minimalistic, idiot proof.
I hadn`t the opportunity to test it intensively so far but the quality seems good (would like to know where it was manufactured)
The amount of tools is very minimalistic but that`s ok, i never leave the house without a Viktorinox "Forester" so both together form an unbeatable team.

Is the blade on this serrated?

Not really a question - I just thought it...

Not really a question - I just thought it is worth pointing out that Leatherman is explicit about the blade being made from 154CM, not 420C - and 154CM is a significantly superior steel.
