Small in size, but ready for big jobs; the Leatherman Juice S2 Multi-Tool.

The compact Leatherman Juice S2 Multi-Tool packs handy features, such as pliers, wire cutters, knife, screwdrivers, and scissors. A few of the features, including the knife, scissors, and bottle opener, are conveniently accessible from the outside. At a mere three and one quarter inches when closed, the Juice S2 is small enough to hang on the car keys, stash in a pack, store in the glove box, or become your favorite go-to craft box tool.

Leatherman Juice S2 Review

Here's my take on the Juice S2

S2 has good balance of weight / features

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

See BzBrian's October 27, 2012 review, below.

I agree that, for everyday use, a multi-tool like the Leatherman Wingman seems like a good value with good utility, but... If you're considering multi-tool weight (say, for backpacking trips), compare the Wingman (7.0 oz, per Leatherman Website) to other tools like the SC2 (4.5 oz, per my scale).

Very impressed

This knife is great. I've used it thoroughly since July 2012 and all of the features have held up great.I like that the scissors and knife are accesable from the outside, however the nail-catch opening style found on the knife is somewhat annoying. I'm no expert on blade steel, and I don't pretend to be, but the 420Hc steel came crazy sharp out of the box, stayed sharp for a while, and sharpened easily to an impressivly sharp edge. the other tools do thier jobs, I've used all of them eccept the wire cutters, but they seem attiquate. The lanyard holder used to get in the way when I tried to close the knife part, so I took it off. The weight is pretty light (it's about 1/2 the weight of the Leatherman Wave), yet still feels very sturdy and fills the hand comfotably. I've taken it on several camping trips, a rafting trip, and a canoe trip, and its been fine, no rusting or similar problems. I'd say this knife is well worth the money. Leatherman is a very well trusted brand, and for good reason. All of their products that I have tried have been exelent, and this particular one is top of the line in nearly every aspect.

Attractive, but OK

  • Gender: Male

The biggest plus is that this thing looks cute and casual. But for true multitool use, look at the Leatherman Wingman for just half the price.

One thing to note is that although the Juice does have pliers, they are not spring action so they're a low slower and a little cumbersome to use.

Leatherman Juice S2 Rocks!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using the Juice S2 (mine is actually the SC2) for 5 years. This is a great, small, light multi-tool. I watch tenths of ounces in my backpacking gear. My Juice SC2 weighs 4.6 oz and, because of its utility, it has displaced the 3.5 oz Swiss Army FieldMaster knife in my kit. In my opinion, Leatherman overstates included tools. My Juice SC2 includes: Knife; Pliers; Wire Cutters; XS Screwdriver; Small Screwdriver; Large Screwdriver; Phillips Screwdriver; Scissors; Bottle/Can Opener; Corkscrew. I did notice in last year or so that the Editors at Backpacker magazine have rated the Juice S2 highly, too.

Small, light, awesome

SWEET. I keep it clipped to a carabiner and either attached to or inside my pack at all times. The blade is sharp, scissors cut well, pliers grip strongly, and everything works as it should. It is also much smaller than I expected; it fits in the palm of my hand.

I've had this little tool for a few years now and have found it endlessly helpful. The size makes it easy to keep in your pocket instead of a standard folder, and the weight makes it easy to throw in my backpack on ultralight trips.
The best thing about this multitool, compared to others I've owned, is that the blade folds out on the outside, so it's really quick and easy to get out and hold. On other multitools I've had, the blade folds out from the inside, making it much less convenient to use the blade.
I almost never leave home without this tool.

Update: the lever spring bar that keeps the blade closed snapped somehow, not sure how I did it. I contacted Leatherman and they sent me a brand new one promptly, no questions. Great company.

Addicted to Juice

I love my little Juice. It's small , tough and light weight, yet basically has everything you need in the back country or even around town. Keep in mind that there are a number of different versions of the Juice. This one is the S2 and comes with scissors. My version is the C2, and is identical except that it comes with a wine bottle opener instead of scissors. What can I say, I like a nice bottle of merlot after a hard days trek. Either way you go, the Juice is a great multi tool to have by your side.

Everything you need

The only tool I ever carry with me. It has everything you need for the trail and nothing you don't. It is not actually small enough to hang from your car keys, and I'm not really sure why it has the loop but other than that it is great.

Only reasons it didn't get 5 stars is that it is a little heavy.

Lost without it.

Oh my little juice, what would I do without you? This knife as been with me for years. It goes with me no matter what. I've actually checked luggage just so I know that I'll have the knife with me...that may be a little crazy, but once you buy it, you'll understand. It's hard to say what my favorite feature is, but if I had to choose, the size. The knife easily fits in the coin pocket of all of my pants, weighs next to nothing, and yet, it still packs a great selection of tools. My only complaint with this knife is that the blade doesn't hold an edge worth a damn. But a quick run over a whetstone and you're good to go.

Just Right!!!

I have used Leathermans for years, and prior to this one used both the Surge and Fuse. The latter 2, although excellent just seemed too heavy to hike with so I would slum it with my swiss army camper. This Leatherman fits the bill! Its compact, light weight and small enought to pocket without being a minature! Its a bit limited but it carrys the necessary essentials and leatherman quality! Great choice for a good packable multi-tool!!!
