The Leatherman Core Multi-Tool helps you fix your busted crampons, bent tent poles, the rattle in your car's dashboard, and countless other repairs around the house. The Core has locking knife blades, three wire cutters, pliers, and is the first Leatherman tool to offer hollow-ground screwdrivers in standard sizes. Comfortable rounded handles allow you to get a firm grip on the Core when you're using any of the tools. Made of stainless steel, the Core takes the abuse of everyday use without complaint.

Very Useful But Heavy

This is one of the handiest tools I've ever used for both work & the outdoors. It has more useful functions than most other type tools. I take it on all my winter outings where weight, it's only downside, is not an issue. The saw has provided small firewood in an emergency when heat was necessary however the blade is short limiting cutting to a maximum of 3" diameter & reversing angles. None of the tools are as good as individuals but when you combine them into one package, you have a very compact & useful accoutrement.

Performance out of this is great. It is heavy, like others have said. I prefer the Juice S2 from Leatherman when I am hiking but, the Core served many purposes while around the house or in my car. Solid product.
does this Leatherman come with a Sheath? if so what type leather
does this Leatherman come with a Sheath? if so what type leather or Nylon?

The one tool for just about any emergency. I own 4 Leathermans from the Squirt to the Charge. The Core is my main go to for any minor repairs. The blade is razor sharp, the pliers are always handy as are the drivers. The cores tools are just about normal tool size for better handling. But yes, it is heavy!!!. For hiking I switched to the Juice s2 which is about half its size and has a limited number of tools better suited for backpackers who want a good size multitool at half the weight. Theres a Leatherman suited for everyone. GET ONE!!!

This is a great tool to have with you wherever you are. It has more than enough features to remedy most any problem on the run, but that's not always the best choice. Keep in mind that this tool is 10.8 ounces, and you're not going to want that considerable weight to your pack if you're just going to end up using the knife and the pliers. This tool is one of the best I've ever found, but sometimes it's better to go with a more "average" multi-tool that will be lighter but have fewer features. As with most gear, it just depends on how you're planning on using it.
