Stuff your tongue back in your mouth, and start your shred-heavy workout.

Fit some cardio into your huckfest with the lightweight Lange XT 120 Ski Boot. Its stiff-flexing, hardcore construction makes no compromise in performance, and uber-comfortable liner, tenacious sole, and hike mode will have you at your target heart rate in no time. It's not that you need the exercise, but you do need to rip up that line you've been drooling over, way in the distance.

  • Polyether shell and polyolefin HP cuff for lightweight, superior performance and all-day comfort
  • 120 flex is stiff but forgiving for a pain-free ride; mono-injection provides a smooth, consistent flex, regardless of temperatures
  • 100mm width provides optimal comfort with an ample forefoot and narrower heel cup
  • True-lasted Control Fit liner provides precise, energy-efficient, ultra-comfy fit; saddle-stitched seams eliminate hot spots
  • One-piece toe box, instep pocket, and anatomical padding afford optimal comfort and security
  • Natural stance complements the more upright modern ski design, with a 4-degree ramp angle and 12-degree (14-degree with spoiler) forward lean
  • Canting adjustment of plus or minus 1.5 degrees for fine tunes
  • 50mm power strap gives you added power-transfer and security
  • Hike-ski mode is an easy-access pull-tab that allows you to hoof it to the goods in comfort
  • Ultra grip and arch sole increases traction on exposed and rocky hikes for safe, secure footing

Lange XTs can handle it all

The Lange XTs can handle it all, even scrambling on snow laced cliffs.

Love the Lange XT 120

  • Gender: Male

I love how the XT 120 boot feels, rides, fits and even looks. They offer unsurpassed control and fit in my humble opinion. I'll admit I haven't done any touring on these bad boys yet, so I'll pass on that aspect, mostly just fun big mountain riding so far.

have you had any issues with water getting into the boot?

Hey Robbie - Negative. I definitely have not had any issues with water getting into the boot. So far, so good.

HUGE design flaw

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

So far this season, I have had 10 good hard ski days on this boot both in Canada and Switzerland - with another 20+ days planned. It has been down to -27degC, boot-packed, instructed in and walked a fair distance. I love the way this boot feels and rides. I have had them professionally fitted/ alignment tweaked etc etc..
HOWEVER...there is one HUGE problem with this boot. It lets in snow through the area of the plastic overlap underneath the forefoot buckles. After only 2 - 2 1/2hrs of skiing, even in the mildest of temps (-1degC) my feet are like blocks of ice. The liners are seriously damp, even on the underside so much so that the underneath of my cork footbeds got damp. At -27DegC, the outside of the liner was frozen solid, which resulted in minor frostbite.. I initially thought that it was due to my feet sweating, but i have ruled that one out with the use of foot antiperspirant - bone dry feet + socks and still wet liners. Removing the liner reveals snow inside the shell. I have tried boot gloves, but snow still gets forced underneath and eventually inside the boot . The problem appears to be with the overlap design?approx 1mm at the toe, extending to a whopping 5mm where the cuff joins the lower shell. My kids boots have a better snow protection design. In all other aspects, these boots rock, but i would NOT recommend this boot to anyone. It shows that this is their 1st attempt at a free-ride/ alpine touring boot. I am trading these in for the new Salomon QuestMax 120. Duct Tape and silicone sealant are not the answer for an $650 pair of boots?
PLEASE NOTE - i did not purchase these boots from Backcountry. I feel compelled to pass on my findings..
I have posted photos on the lange xt130 page.

Hey Gavin, what year are these boots (not sure if they started this model in 2011 or 2012). I'm worried about the issue you had although I was assured that it wasn't an issue by the Surefoot dealer.

They a this years model....very disappointed... The boot fitter contacted Lange and predictably they denied it was a problem. However, it was a known design problem on all their boots last year.. Only the salomon questmax seems to properly solve the issue with a gortex 'flap' fitted along the overlap join. Now riding in a pair of salomon xmax 130's and using Cat tracks to give me grip.. A vastly superior boot, shame about the solid sole.
