Laken's 1L Prisma Bottle lets you enjoy a swig of water without any plastic taste. This sturdy aluminum bottle has an inner drink-safe Epoxi lining that prevents leaching and resists residue from flavored sport drinks. The Prisma Bottle's unique rectangular profile provides an ergonomic grip, while the wide mouth makes it easy to add ice cubes or powder to your drink.
Bottom Line: Store your liquid of choice in aluminum, rectangular goodness.
I bought one of these as well as a Sigg. I used this bottle daily at work as well as on a couple of hiking trips. The bottle worked great, no unexpected tastes. Slightly difficult to drink out of as the large external threads on the lip of the bottle let water slip by. Also the bottle dents quite easily if you drop it, though not as easily as the Sigg bottle. I didn't mind as it added some character to the bottle. The real problem came roughly 6 months later. Some pitting began to develop on the liner of the bottle. I tried everything to remove it but was not successful. Ultimately I threw it away as the water started to take on a plastic taste when i drank. It does not seem the others who have reviewed this product had the same problem, just reporting what happened.
Is it easy to clean throughly? I mean, is the mouth wide enough to see all the sides & the bottom of the interior so that you can inspect any damages & stains? I was using an old narrow mouth bottle for many years without realising the internal coating was somehow chipped.
The mouth is wide enough to see down to the bottom of the bottle easily. Though I had some issues after less than a year with the internal coating of this bottle developing some pitting. Good news, I guess is that I could see it.
I purchased these bottles(4)to replace my nalgene bottles. I didn't notice a chemical smell, but washed the bottles thoroughly prior to use. I've lost count how many times my 5 and 2 year old have dropped them, as well as a few times myself. They are pretty dinged up, but the exterior paint, and the interior coating are still intact. My kids won't drink out of anything else now. Sippy cups and the like are for babies according to these two die hard destructo-kids.

I love this bottle. Even after leaving water in it for days it tastes totally fine. It is a very good looking bottle and the squared off shape seems to take up less space than traditional round bottles. I'm pretty happy I jumped on the aluminum bottle bandwagon.
Well I guess but it is all aluminum which is a great conductor of heat so... if you like to hold hot coffee in your hands, tear it up because you are more of a man than I!
This bottle is great for my backpack trips, fits easy in my pockets on my pack and does not roll away when I set it down! It's a liter, but seems smaller because of the rounded edges and stout design. Pretty tough too!
Had several siggs that (1) Cost more, (2) dented easier, (3) finish would peal after around dents, (4) were harder to clean than my laken.
I will say that it still does dent, but none of the fatal bottom crushing dents on my Siggs that would stop it from standing up straight and left me sending it back.
The Laken Prism is a much better value especially when u can grab it on sale.
the Epoxi lining worries me. Im looking for an aluminum bottle to avoid the chemicals that come from Nalgene bottles. Does the epoxi lining leach any chemicals? even if it gets dented?
I've had mine about a year and now the epoxi has developed small bubbles under it and has peeled away from the aluminum. But other than the floating chunks of epoxi in my water, its been great!
no. the reason epoxy is used is it's flexible, so when it does get dented it doesn't crack open exposing bare aluminum. they use this same type of epoxy to line foods cans.
this square shaped bottle is great, it DOESN'T ROLL away! f' brilliant design. also love the wide mouth, way bigger than a Sigg bottle. on my old Sigg i wore away the enamel coating with the internal stopper threads, something i can't do with this bottle as the threads are external.
I bought this bottle to try to get away from the BPA found in Nalgene bottles. While Laken claims to use a bottle liner that is tested and proven to not leach, it still is an epoxy which is probably made with BPA. That was a concern, but I still bought the bottle to give it a shot. When it arrived, however,it smelled strongly of chemicals inside the bottle. Not being convinced that the liner was 100% safe and being turned off by the smell, I returned it. In its defense, it is a good-looking bottle.
