Good Sleepin'

This bag feels the exact same thickness as the warm and light 40 degree bag. In my opinion the only difference is the addition of a draft tube running the length of the side zipper. Also the stuff sack rates this bag to 40("comfort") degrees, not 30("transition") as it is advertised as. With that being said i am a cool sleeper and this is more than enough for me as a 3 season bag. Best feature is that it packs down so flippin' small. I don't think i would pay full price for this bag but if you catch it on steep and cheap, get it.

Lafuma 800 on left, 600 on right, both great bags. REI Sub-Kilo in middle (too narrow for me!)

Another nice Lafuma bag

I really like these bags. Very light and compact. Good attention to detail with the included storage sack, glow-in-the-dark zipper pull, zipper cover, etc. The bag is light and kept my daughter snug and warm all night at 50F and with no rainfly on our tent.

The bag has plenty of room for me at 5'11" 190lbs when my daughter hasn't stolen the bag from me... It can be stuffed into an XS Sea-to-Summit Ultra-Sil sack, but that's pushing things and I use the Small size.

At 80 bucks from Steep & Cheap, this bag was a steal. I'm looking forward to testing it out at 30-40F.

What is the fill weight on this bag? 800G is how much the entire bag weighs- but what is the weight of the down itself? Thanks!

Close, but no cigar... 650 is the fill power, not the fill weight. Fill weight states how much down the bag has.

Cool n' Light

I got a screaming deal on this bag over at Steep & Cheap a couple years back. It's number one feature is that it's eminently packable, stuffs down to about the size of a loaf of bread with the included stuff sack. So it goes in the pack rather than on it, which is a nice upgrade from my last bag.

That said, it's really a 45-degree bag--I've woken up trembling in the Sierra in the summer a few times. I'm too cheap to spring for a bag liner, but that would probably do the trick. So if you need a summer bag and see this on sale, go for it. Otherwise, try something rated a little lower--a bag that can't handle California summer nights isn't necessarily worth the investment.

I second that. Same problem here. I'm an average temp person, this bag was cold with three good layers under 40-45deg. Used over 8 nights in those conditions (open air sleeping but protected from wind) I needed a liner (and sometimes a space blanket on top...)
The problem is that the down seems to be almost non-existent and moisture builds up easily.
I would not recommend this bag, although the specs seem great they don't stand up to reality and with the actual experience there are equally good light choices for a 45 bag.
