Light, packs small!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My sleeping bag came with a black bag (besides the compression sack) about the size of a large pillow sleeve with mesh on the sides. What is it?

It's a bag to store your sleeping bag in when you're not using it. If you store it compressed all the time, it will lose insulation faster.

I did not know that! Thank you laura. Maybe this information should be made more obvious?

what is meant by 'draft tube'?

It's an insulated tube of material that runs along the zipper to prevent air drafts from coming into the bag.

And here's a picture of a draft tube...the long, thin baffle that runs the length of the zipper. Different bag, same concept. The green baffle right below the hood is a draft collar.
