Eco 40 Backpack - 2440cu in

You might think a backpack made with eco-friendly fabric would be like wearing a no-frills burlap sack on your back. Lafuma's Eco 40 Backpack is here to prove that theory very wrong. Lafuma made the Eco 40 with hemp and recycled polyester fabric, and they didn't skimp on the extras either. A stretch, ventilated back panel helps prevent back sweat, the steel spring rod frame supports your hiking gear, and ergonomic waist and shoulder belts feel comfortable all day long. The Eco 40 daypack has dual compartments, bottom and top access, and gusseted side pockets. Pull the included rain cover out if the weather turns ugly.

Bottom Line: Eco-friendly fabric doesn't mean sacrificing comfort or useful features.

Yes, it does. It has a dual compartment with bottom access, so that's a common place to put a sleeping bag.

This pack has one main, large compartment that will fit a regular sized sleeping bag. You'll be able to squeeze in a few articles of clothing as well. Theres a small top compartment for accessories, & two long, skinny side pockets. I put a camping stool in one & my water bottle in the other. This pack was great for my overnight camp.

Don't Waste Your Money

This pack is junk and did not last the first leg of one trip. Luckily it was not a hiking/camping trip; but I did need the function of a back pack for the trip and this pack let me down right out of the gate. One of the medal rods from the frame ripped thru the stiching that held it in place. Also, the snaps that hold the frame to the bag, came unsnaped everytime you pick the pack up. I had to put it on a table, resnap then slid in to the pack with out putting weight on only one strap or it would come unsnaped again. Again, this pack is JUNK!

This pack can't really carry two ice climbing axes, can it?

This pack can't really carry two ice climbing axes, can it? It looks like its got a place for more of an alpine axe, but not a place for two of them.

Nothing to complain about, a simple yet sturdy pack with enough room for simple day hike, technical day-outing. Feels well and most importantly performs well.
