I just got this pack and I REALLY like it but there's several extras that I can't figure out what they are for. There's a pocket inside the main zippered compartment that looks like it's for a 2-liter hydration pack but then there's another pocket on the back panel that also looks like it could be for a 2- or 3-liter hydration pack. Both allow for tube access to the shoulder harness. So which is it? Also, there are expandable pockets on the outside of each shoulder strap with loops at the bottom of each pocket. What are these for? If you have any other info on this pack, please include that as well. My last day pack was a glorified stuff sack so I'm overwhelmed by all the extras on this pack. Thanks! Teri

The pocket on the back panel will be for your bladder, it keeps that weight and constantly shifting load right against your back in the most stable position. The other will be for an organizer. It says that there are 2 shoulder strap water bottle holders, so those are probably what you are talking about.

I jumped on this pack after searching high and low for a replacement for my 2009 Cambelbak Octane that only has about 90cc of storage. I'm using this for sprint adventure racing and it seems much better suited than the Camelbak for a few reasons. 1) Large storage. It has a real pocket for stuff like a bike helmet, pfd, bike pump, jacket, etc. 2) Small storage. There are more options for holding food and compass. The mesh pockets are pretty easy to reach while running or riding. I don't really love the small bag that can be removed from the waist belt--my arm hits it when I run. So I have that off for now. 3) Hydration options. I use my Camelbak bladder in the bladder pocket, but then I also put 2 20oz bottles in the cool bottle holders on the shoulder straps. I can put electrolyte drink in one and something like Hammer perpetuem in the other so I can go for hours. The bottle holders fold up and disappear if you don't need them, too. I ran 10miles fully loaded recently and it was very comfortable. The only bounce was the water in the bladder. The belt is more comfortable than the Camelbak, but warmer since it's so wide. That's really my only complaint is that it's pretty wide on my body so a little hotter than my Camelbak. I'm not convinced there may not be a better pack out there for sprints, but at this price, totally jump on this.

Does this come with a reservoir, and if so, how big is it?
