Lace up the Lafuma Men's Active Trail Shoes and get ready for the trail. The first thing you'll notice as you tighten the reinforced laces, is the unusual button on each shoe. This is Lafuma's Twin Lace System, which employs dual toggles to quickly secure the forefoot and rearfoot separately, giving you excellent support and a custom fit. Stash the laces in their neoprene pockets and hit the trail. Over uneven ground you'll appreciate the stability and bomber traction of the Vibram Trail outsole. Meanwhile, the textile upper and 3D mesh padded tongue encourage air circulation to cool your feet and keep you comfortable. Jump over rocks, skid around switchbacks, and open it up for the homestretch—toe, heel and side reinforcements can take the punishment.

The fancy "twinlace" system is quite convenient and lets one better adjust the fit, but I doubt if they'd remain functional after long.
Cord locks suck!

The lacing system on these nice shoes is terrible. The plastic cord lock broke on day one, so I replaced them with standard lacing. Too gimmicky to be functional.

Light and tough, these shoes run great on the trails as well as on the black-top that takes you to the trails. The twin lace system keeps the shoe securely on your foot while the hard Vibram sole keeps you steady on the uneven trail. Best shoe ever!

I have ran/hiked in every major brand out there, but the Lafumas definitely stand out as one of the best. The sole is a little more rigid than others in the same category, which allows you to cover very rough terrain without quite the impact on your feet. The cordura outer rand lends to great durability as well. Not to mention, the lacing system allows narrow, medium and wide widths to fit properly in this shoe. I'm giving it 3 thumbs up!
