La Sportiva's versatile design allows the Trango Light Low Men's Hiking Shoes to go on a variety of trips from lightweight day hikes to big-wall aid climbs. Their approach-shoe styling makes them technical enough for easy rock climbing or aid pitches, but still provides plenty of comfort on a few miles of trail. The Trango Light Low Hiking Shoes use sticky FriXion soles for grip on the rock and an I.B.S. tread pattern for traction on steep trails. Thanks to La Sportiva's rubber toe cap and leather uppers, these hiking / approach shoes stand up the all the abuse you dish out during the season.

I picked up this since my other La Sportiva shoes (Mythoes) serves me so good, and I'm so happy with this approach shoes too! It's pretty stiff so it's perfect for long rugged approach, or light and first hike. Not a running shoes at all, but still I can comfortably run down trail after climb. I'm using it with the superfeet for extra support since I have a bad ankle. I'll buy same pair again!!

These shoes perform excellently. Great adjustability, fit and functionality. They size correctly, unlike their trail running shoes, and have great soles and fit for hiking and approaches. Highly recommended. My favorite approach shoe.

These are pretty beefy, substantial approach shoes. These aren't soft, running shoe type rigs. These would be great for long days on ridges where you would want some more support and protection from talus. You can bust out some 5.8 moves if you have to, but they are a bit on the clunky side to inspire much confidence on technical rock. And they're a bit hot on the feet in the summer. All around a solid shoe that I'm sure will last longer than most approach type shoes.
