Gets you to your coffee and the crag.

Designed to deal with both technical terrain and manicured streets, the La Sportiva Women's Mix Approach Shoe sports a soft upper and aggressive sole. The shoe's leather and microfiber upper adapts to the width of your foot, resulting in a comfortable and responsive fit. In addition, the shoe has an asymmetrical to-the-toe lacing system, which allows you to dial in an even more precise fit when headed to more demanding and exposed terrain. The compression molded midsole is both cushioning and firm to deliver performance both on the trail and on rotten rock, while the sticky rubber sole features opposed rubber lugs at the heel and climbing zone to improve braking performance and overall traction.

    Perfect Approach Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 41

I love these shoes. They are burly enough to deal with sharp and hard granite, but comfy enough to work well on the approach. I have a narrow heel and a wider toe box and these fit me well. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10 and I ordered these in 41.0. Love them!

    Love these shoes

I bought these for our upcoming European trip, thinking I could get some light hiking and lots of walking in and still be fashionable. They fit great and were extraordinarily comfortable right out of the box. I have worn them city walking, for light hiking and to work a few times. I work on my feet and they have been great. Also, super sticky when wet, allowing for some serious creek hopping and carrying my dog up a wet, slippery, rocky area. Runs true to size if you look at their sizing chart - I was going to order a 40, but was guided to a 40.5 (US size 9 for me) and they are a perfect fit.

    Lightweight and Sticky!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 7.5+

I LOVE THESE SHOES! I also owned the Boulder X shoes for 5 years before switching to these. I will say both shoes are phenomenal. You can not go wrong with La Sportiva. That said, I will emphasize that this shoe and Boulder X are quite different. I feel Boulder X is more aggressive, heavy, and overall very durable whereas this shoe is lightweight, slightly more flexible, and true to size. I had to buy the Boulder X a full size up from my regular shoe size (I am 7.5+ and had to get an 8...39.5), but with these shoes I think La Sportiva added more room in the sizing to compensate for thickness of socks, feet swelling, etc. so I bought these shoes in my actual shoe size 7.5+ (39).

    I love it!!!!

    great shoe

My wife wears these most days and they are holding up well to what kills most shoes. We live at a camp and finding shoes that are semi casual, but will not be ruined immediately by constant wear on rocks, gravel and mud can be a challenge. She hikes frequently in these and while approach shoes might be overkill for simply hiking in many areas, hikes here can be pretty technical. The shoes are not overly beefy and clunky, they have good soles but are still light and flexible.
