Why We Like The La Sportiva Karakorum Mountaineering Boots

When laced in the La Sportiva Karakorum Mountaineering Boots, we cover countless miles with the plush platform taking on the shock of our heavy load, and the tough materials brushing off the rugged terrain. Equipped with the multi-directional 3D Flex hinge, this pair protects our ankles yet still lets them flex freely, while the footbed's anti-torsion plate and the sole's earth-biting lugs ensure stable steps on unstable ground.

Good boots for outdoor ice and snow extremes

These boots have very hard soles but hold up well to cold temperatures, snow, and ice. They do require leg gators to keep snow out of the top but are built tough. The laces have a latch strap to keep the bottoms snug and without a doubt worth the price.

Kick in doors and rescue babies

I've worn these boots for awhile so I could give a fair and honest opinion. These boots take awhile to break in but wow they are great on rough terrain. I used these boots recently to clear buildings and I was wearing ballistic gear. These boots made my feet secure and I felt like i could walk over anything. The biggest plus to these boots is there is no gortex. I live in a high desert area so these boots haven't been wet yet. I can't say anything about them being waterproof. To be honest that's of little concern for me. I wear wool socks with these boots and they do feel warm but the wool socks do a good job of keeping moisture off my feet. The sole is very nice. I was clearing a house with slippery hard wood floors and the sole gripped just fine. The ankle support is pretty awesome as well. The one complaint I have and almost every boot company is guilty of the following. The insoles suck. For the life of me, I wish boot companies would either not put anything in the boot or offer better insoles. I wear a size 14 and size 48 is perfect for me.

Excellent boot

This is a great all around boot- great support, rugged construction I’m a 9.5 some what slender foot and find the 43 size 10 to fit perfect with a thick sock. Good choice for heavy backpacking, summer mountaineering or tree and forestry work
