Description

The minimalist trail shoe with a heart of smooth, soft cushioning.

Run far and fast into the wild when you're wearing the La Sportiva Women's Helios Trail Running Shoe. Designed with the performance trail runner in mind, this little beauty feels nimble underfoot and smooth over rough, rocky surfaces. A wave-like midsole structure helps the sole adapt to uneven terrain and absorb impact while the low heel-to-forefoot drop allows your foot to naturally roll from heel strike to toe off. Over medium-to-long distances the Helios saves your foot and joints a thrashing.

La Sportiva calls this a minimalist trail running shoe and, due to its feathery 8.1 ounce weight, it would be hard to disagree. Only two of Sportiva's other mountain running shoes compare, the Vertical K and the Anakonda. The Vertical K is a few ounces lighter at the cost of cushioning, while the Anakonda is lower to the ground with a more aggressive grip. While both of these shoes offer distinct advantages, the Helios brings the the best of both worlds, striking a balance that allows you to tackle a mixed-terrain 10k or a marathon through the woods.

  • Tempo 2 last offers a medium-volume fit with a performance feel that's closer to your foot than a traditional trail running shape
  • Race-style design means that this shoe combines shock-absorbing cushioning, superior traction, a low-profile outsole, and a performance fit so you're ready for race day or fast training sessions
  • HyDrain mesh upper allows water to drain away quickly in case you're forced to run through a stream or river
  • Combined AirMesh and TPU support harness keeps the upper light and breathable without sacrificing support or foothold inside the shoe
  • Synthetic heel lining dries quickly and encourages sweat to move away from your skin so your foot feels cool and dry
  • Low 4mm drop (heel-forefoot offset) means that there's just a 4mm difference between the measured height of your heel and the measured height of your forefoot; this low drop creates a natural foot position inside the shoe, encourages proper biomechanical flex, and allows you to more easily utilize a mid or forefoot striking style
  • MorphoDynamic midsole offers more cushioning than a standard minimalist shoe
  • Highly flexible midsole also quickly adapts to uneven surfaces and absorbs impact to reduce stress on your knees and ankles
  • Frixion sole features large lugs that dig into loose sand and gravel and grippy rubber that improves traction on hard surfaces like the road
