    Light is fast.

Sure, La Sportiva's Helios 2.0 Running Shoe would be lighter than air if it were actually made from helium, but your feet might feel pretty kicked after an 18 mile trail run in them. Not to mention, you might have a hard time finding them before you head out for a run. For that, and a few more, reasons, it's probably best that La Sportiva built the Helios 2.0 the way that it did, which is actually pretty damn light. Weighing just eight ounces per shoe, the Helios 2.0 is made with a super light HyDrain mesh upper, TPU lacing harness, and microfiber heel and toe for extra support and increased durability. The heel of the Helios is lined with a moisture-wicking EVA AirMesh for added comfort, while the shoe's MorphoDynamic Midsole ensures a springy feel right out of the box. The Helios 2.0 maintains the same minimal 4mm drop as its predecessor, but is now equipped with a fast lacing drawcord closure for a quick and secure closure to the shoe.

    Very Comfortable Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 46.5

So far this shoe has been very comfortable. I use it for everyday use, and it has met my expectations. It probably would not be a very good shoe for very rocky trails.

small fit, beware of no rock plate

If you think La sportiva shoes are "true to size" then either you think you have a smaller foot than you do or you like your toes curled like a climbing shoe. Definitely size up at least 1/2 but likely 1 whole size if you actually want any space for your toes. I wear a size 10 in US and had to get a size 44 in these babies. This shoe does not have a rock plate so running over small rocks causes stabbing pain in your foot. The sole isn't very resistant to granite. I know there are better La sportiva shoes out there for technical running but if you want a lightweight shoe for buttery smooth singletrack they'd work fine.
