A triple-density midsole makes the La Sportiva Fireblade Women's Trail Running Shoes a comfortable choice for long distances whether you run on pavement or dirt. Their versatile crossover design lets you step out your front door and cover miles of road before your favorite trailhead. Runner's World was impressed enough to give them their Best Debut award. La Sportiva's FriXion Racing outsoles give you the grip you need for road running and great traction in the woods. The Fireblade Trail Running Shoes also use a stiff heel cup for pronation control, so you don't end your season with a rolled ankle.
Bottom Line: Run comfortably in the city or in the mountains with the La Sportiva Fireblade Trail Running Shoes.
On most approaches I prefer to wear lightweight running sneakers vs heavy hiking boots. These are by far my favorite approach shoes on the market. They're low profile, super comfy, well-ventilated, and the FriXion rubber is sticky for rock scrambling.
This shoe was comfortable however there was way too much heal slip for me causing my toes to jam the front of the shoe when I was running down hills. I decided to return this pair in order to find something that would better suit my running style
I can't be sure what size to order in these shoes. Any ideas? I went to the La Sportiva website and their chart indicates that I should get a 41 to a 41 1/2 for a US size 8 1/2. This seems really large compared with other US to Euro sizing charts.
While I can't help on your exact size, I have a pair of these shoes that I run in about twice a week and I wear a 9 ½ shoe, and got this shoe in the 42.5 Euro size. It was a perfect fit and couldn't be happier. Hope this helps!

Love these shoes. I am a trail runner and these are the most comfortable, light weight shoe and take to the rocks so well. Will definitely buy another pair. I bought a half size larger, which I always do for these types of shoes; accomodates my socks without any toe crowding. Would recommend this.

Great shoe! Hugged my medium width foot, felt great first time out in them. True to length. I had no discomfort at all after first time out (and I even suffer with some bad knees)!! Nice gripping and lightweight.
The Fireblade is an amazingly comfortable trail shoe. Hugs the foot, fits well from the first time you put them on. Sock-type tongue system keeps out rocks and grit. Downsides: very low-profile tread and not a lot of cushion. They are lightweight and fast, but watch out--I thought they wore out pretty fast too.
These are really comfortable, light and responsive. I might wear a slightly more stiff shoe for highly rocky/technical trails, but I've been wearing these on single track and fire roads both and really like them.
This is a good shoe for people with narrow feet, low volume, who like to run on mixed trail/asphalt. I returned these shoes due to some stout seams on the inside that rubbed my feet raw. This shoe would work well for overpronators and it has a nice aesthetic design. Happy Running, Metgurl
I love these shoes! I was very hesitant about ordering my size exactly because of some of the reviews regarding smaller than usual size, but they fit perfectly! They feel great on my foot, are always comfortable! Also, I stamped into a muddy creek bed and was pleasantly surprised when my shoe dried within five minutes!
Great shoe for someone that needs neutral arch support! I just did a trail half-marathon in these and they were fantastic! Good grip on rocks and no heal slippage. I wouldn't recommend them for pronators.
Went for a 10 mile hike right out of the box. No blisters and no pain for my short and wide feet. They are great for some mellow bouldering off the trail. They also look very nice on. I am a 6 and ordered a 6-1/2. They fit perfectly. Great for trail running, approaching climbs and hiking. I wear them everywhere. I need another pair!
These are great shoes. I have to disagree with the sizing up comment. I wear these in a size 8, I have GoLite trail running shoes in size 8 and North Face trail running shoes in size 8 also. They fit great, light weight, comfortable and grippy. I have enjoyed these on the trails, they do decent on concrete also!
had to order a 1/2 size up (im usually a 9 but they were too snug; 9 1/2 were good). feel great, good to run in, definitely recommend. and they look cool too (or so people tell me...)
At first these felt weird b/c i have no arch the shoe itself has a stiff arch. But, I quickly got use to them. They feel good (not super cushy but no soreness) and they grip well. Very lightweight also. They also do a great job of keeping dirt and debris out of the shoe - which is great for adventure racing.
I had to return my first pair due to a defect. I have only worn the second pair a few times, but I do like these shoes. They are lightweight and comfortable. I could use a little more cushion, but I have not experienced any pain. I trail run (jog) about 3 to 4 times a week on sandy, rocky desert trails. I know these will be cool in the summer. I ordered the size I normally order and they fit great! They look good, too.
I have always worn Brooks Adrenaline for my pronation... until now! Love these shoes and find them to provide even more support than my previous, less stylish Brooks. Lovin' La Sportiva!!
These things are wicked! I love mine to death. The one word of warning is to pick up 1/2 SIZE LARGE, this is very important. They are narrow in the toe box. I lost a nail with my first pair because they were too small.
Bought these based on the reviews from this site. Very happy with all aspects of these these shoes, put on many trail miles right out of the box on steep rugged backcountry trails throughout wilderness trails in W.MT. Think they are comfortable and functional. Off to AK this week where they will get a workout again. Great trail shoes, happy to recommend them to anyone. Very happy I found this website, great gear at decent prices...let 'er rip! SM
I ran a 38km leg of the Canadian Death Race, regularly do long day hikes and some scrambling in these shoes. They are awesome! They really hug my feet (I have narrow heels and a wide front foot) and have great control on challenging terrain. They hold up really well on long strenuous days plus they look sweet. What else could you want?
I just love my new Fireblade's. I just bought my second pair and I am planning on running in them in The Coastal Challenge, a 6 day stage race in Costa Rica in Feb. They fit perfectly right out of the box and they give me enough support as I tend to pronate a bit. I have been wearing Brooks Adrenaline trail shoes, but I am switching over to the Fireblades now. Thanks, La Sportiva!!
I'm a true US size 8 with slender feet so I ordered a 39.0 euro size and the fit is nothing but perfect. I usually have to change the insoles with thicker ones to fill the "gap" between the shoe and my foot but that is not needed with these shoes. I hike almost daily and although it took me a couple of days to adjust to the wider back of these shoes I love the tight fit and how comfortable they are. They were a bit slippery at first but that disappeared too after some use. Going downhill I never feel my feet sliding forward or compressed towards the front of the shoes. They really fit like a glove. I used them running too when I forgot my running shoes and they do a nice job although a bit heavier. Last but not least they are different and very attractive. The yellow complements the black and highlights the details. Great shoes.
I've been wearing La Sportiva Trail Running Shoes for a while now, and only have great things to say! My favorite thing is how light weight they are, without sacrificing any durability on grip or sole. Very comfortable for long trail runs and never slip.
These shoes fit my narrower foot perfectly and have a decent amount of cushioning. I wear a size 6.5 in my Salomon trail running shoes but I went with the size 7 in these. I probably wouldn't recommend these to anyone with a wide foot, but to anyone else - you need these shoes.
I bought this shoe the week of a Ultimate XC race in Moab and 13 miles later couldn't be happier. There were no friction points, it handled the slick rock like a champ, had great stability and filtered the sand and water out quickly.
It has an extra layer of rubber on the toe which comes in handy on the rocky trails. Keep in mind the size: I went down 1/2 a size from my regular running shoes.
I can't comment on the insole as I put my SuperFeet in for the big run but I hear they have a great heel cup.
I broke these in on the Appalachian Trail in Virginia and Tennessee in a week of back-to-back 20-mile runs. I had problems at all with them right out of the box. I like their stability, their traction and their fit. I use a Powerstep Pinnacle insole for more cushioning, especially for the balls of my feet. Great shoe. Highly recommended for narrow footed, neutral striders.
These are the best running shoes I've ever worn. I used to wear Salomons (sp?), but the La Sportivas are much more comfortable, lighter weight, and attractive. I'd been looking for a durable running shoe in a bright color. Although I don't know how durable they are yet, they're certainly very comfortable and just what I was looking for in terms of aesthetics.
The Fireblade not only looks snazzy, but feels just as great as it looks. Ran in a bit of snow, they worked real well. They are comfortable and provide a bit of support as I am prone to shin splints - none yet! They have great traction, so I can't wait to get them on a trail - but overall, a fantastic shoe - I would recommend them to all!
I loved these right out of the box. The best trail runners I have ever owned. I'm on my second pair. No more rolled ankles for me and the fit is great!

I love this shoe. Its super lightweight and from the second you put it on you feel how supportive it is. Quick easy lacing. Love the color too. I am using these for a company race and for trail running and i love em! Highly recommend them
These are my shoes for summer runs. I have others in the closet but always reach for these. They have the responsiveness of a great road shoe while still being stable enough for the rocky trails. I love the deep heel cup and the grip these shoes give in steep terrain.
