Description

A rigid, breathable, and flexible backpacking boot that's ready for long trails in any weather.

With the protection to prevent rolled ankles and wet toes, the La Sportiva Delta GTX Backpacking Boot enables comfortable trekking and fast-packing without the weight of a bulky leather boot. With a contoured midsole, 3D Flex ankle, and a Gore-Tex membrane to keep the rain out, you can trek for weeks comfortably with this lightweight boot securing your wandering steps.
  • Durable Idro-Perwanger roughout leather, synthetic leather, and stretch Cordura upper stands up to abuse as you traverse mountain ranges and long trails
  • Gore-Tex lining seals out rain, puddles, and creek crossings while also expelling interior moisture to prevent blisters
  • Co-molded PU-EVA midsole and 7mm Ergoflex footbed match your foot's shape and cushion heavy steps in rocky terrain
  • TPU torsion plate reduces boot twisting and buckling while providing a decent amount of flex
  • 3D Flex ankle enables easy mobility while climbing steep sections of trail but tall collar provides side-to-side protection to prevent ankle injury
  • The Vibram Sasslong rubber outsole secures your steps on mud, sand, and slick rock
  • Soft Cordura in the ankle and gusset reduce pressure points while the lace hooks ensure an even fit throughout the many miles

What is the actual weight on this boot? La Sportiva is listing it at 20 oz so I'd typically believe the dealer, but most every website (including BC) that I've found lists it at 28 oz ... which is a pretty big difference. Can anyone verify?

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I've tried over a dozen different boots the last 6 months trying to find the "perfect" boot. These boots were by far the most comfortable boots I tried. The really fit "my" feet like a glove. I have average-to-narrow fore foot with narrow heels. These were honestly the best fitting boots I've ever tried and that's probably over 30 different pairs of boots in my lifetime. They are extremely light weight and built well. I did return these before using because they just didn't have the ankle support that I was looking for. I ended up going with the Salomon Quest 4D's because of the higher and stiffer ankle support however these were FAR more comfortable. I was really sad to have to send them back. This would be a great boot for moderate to average hikes. I would not recommend long hikes with heavy loads as they just don't have the support IMO for long heavy trips. I'd say 25lb pack tops. If you've got ankles built of steel and aren't prone to sprains then these would be an excellent choice for longer hikes. The sole is moderately flexible and I wouldn't suggest any serious mountaineering in them but then again that's not what they were built for. I will definitely own a pair of La Sportiva's in the future!

Ankle support in footwear mostly comes from heel stability. Unless the boot wraps halfway up your calf, it won't provide much ankle support. The high cut is mostly to keep debris out and prevent water from going over the top.

I have wide feet, I ordered regular size 9.5 since there is no 9.5 wide size option from selection menu when I ordered. I tried this boot last weekend (just one weekend) and found out it does not fit and hurting my feet.
Is possible sending back my boot and replacing with 9.5 wide size boot. Please let me know, thank you.
