Though the La Sportiva Women's Crosslite Racing Shoe weighs next to nothing, that doesn't mean it can't have a well-cushioned, mud-shedding outsole. Whether race day falls on a splitter weekend or a total downpour, the Crosslite Racing Shoe performs like nothing you've ever laced up before. The full-synthetic uppers provide excellent ventilation on the hottest days, and covered laces keep moisture out during bad-weather runs. Don't think for a second that you should get these La Sportiva shoes to “go out and get in shape.” These are the shoes that you pull from your closet for the few races a year when you really want to dust the competition.
These great shoes endured a tough mudder. No blisters. No slipping. Just right for mudding and trailing. Cleaned up well. They will carry me through the next mudder.

I am currently in Antarctica and I needed a stable yet light weight running shoe. All there is here is rocks ice and snow to run on unless you run on the tredmils. I find these the MOST stable trail shoes I've ever owned. I have narrow feet and I pronate so it's tough to find a shoe that is narrow enough for me yet stable enough. I'm going to pick up another pair once I make it back to the states! Stay warm!
How well do these shoes keep out moisture? Would they be good for running through wet grass? My current running shoes leave my socks sopping wet from early morning runs through grass filled with dew. If not these, does anyone have recommendations for somewhat waterproof running shoes?
Mia, they will work for running through wet grass but eventually through wear and tear they will leak and you will have to treat them. I recommend Nikwax products for that. You may be able to treat your current shoe with this product as well.
great shoe for running with my dog in Agility. These shoes give me the traction I need to compete on grass and on dirt. With a dog running, jumping at 6+yps and with multiple changes of direction I find the crosslite shoes the best I have ever worn and recommend them to others. Jan
I don't race, but I did get them for hikes (I prefer them over "hiking" shoes). I tried them out yesterday on a 6 mile hike (with a little running), and the stability on rocky terrain was great! I usually wear a 7.5 and ordered the 38.5 - they were perfect. The covered laces make them a little tight, but they loosen up.
I love these shoes! I live in a small town in Eastern Europe where almost none of the roads are paved or have sidewalks, and I always felt like I was going to slip or twist my ankle when I ran in my Nike Shox. But with my La Sportiva trail running shoes, I always feel perfectly stable, confident, and steady with my footing. They are light weight, fit true to size, and probably best for people with narrow feet.
Fits true to size, molds to my foot really well. These are great in snow or on trails, and not too bad for a couple miles of pavement to get to the trailhead.
Feels firm underfoot. If you want a lot of cushion, this shoe isn't for you!
Bought these to run in the snow (unavoidable for me right now) and they have been AWESOME. I use them without my Yaktrax, and overall I think they perform better. Keep my feet dry and protected even when running in deep snow. Traction is great even on ice. I bought these ones because I use La Sportiva Muiras for climbing and they have a similar sort of fit. Perfect! I don't have a single negative thing to say about them!
I hate running in the winter but I got a pair of ice cleats this year and it really has really helped. I put in 60 miles last week in a blizzard with ice and slush all over the roads. These things really helped. If your looking for an ice cleat to run in then you might want to check out www.spiky.com
I've run in the La Sportiva Fireblades for some time now and didn't think I would find anything better until I tried the La Sportiva Crosslites. They are very comfortable and have much better grip on rocky trails than the Fireblades. I agree with the other reviewers - this shoe works best for narrow to normal width feet. The Crosslites are fantastic trail shoes however if you have to combine trails with road running, I think the Fireblade is more suitable.
These shoes are great, have had two bunion's operated on, and can run a 17 mile trail run with no problem. Have bought other trail shoes and taken them back. I am on my third pair. Great for a narrow to a normal foot. Out of the box, run not a sore anywhere. highly recommend this shoe. My hubby loves this shoe, but does wear out alittle sooner. Still run in them at least 6 months, them the knee started to hurt. Very light, I am small and can't handle the heavy trail shoes, these are great, like a pair of light road shoes. Claudia
If you have narrow, low volume feet this shoe is a marriage made in heaven. Super fast, super light, and easy on the eyes. I bought these shoes because I've had other approach, hiking shoes by La Sportiva and loved them. Lacing is a little difficult; with the tongue protector. Getting down to the loops can be a little difficult, and the seams around the inside portion of the tongue can be a tad rough around the edges. If you overpronate or have high arches these shoes will accommodate you very well. I would not recommend these shoes for someone with wider feet or high foot volume. There is a fair balance of insulation to make these shoes appropriate for all 4 seasons (or two if you live out west ;o) . Happy Running, Metgurl
