do these run narrow? I have a pretty wide food and I keep reading how La Sportiva's run narrow but I have a pair of Helios that I like and they fit my foot fine. Just thought I might give these a try.
Wish I Had Purchased 2 Paur
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Been running trails in La Sportivas for 8 years or so now. Their women's specific fit is a perfect match to my feet...and you know how rare that is. Exactly as described above: low profile with just enough cushioning, but with superior grip from FriXion AT rubber lugs. Tuck the laces under the mesh cover-all and no worries of random twigs and branches getting caught. Not waterproof but resisted water even in pretty heavy rain. My feet are more wet/clunky wearing my LA Sportiva Wildcat gore-tex runners b/c feet sweat more in that fabric that with these. This fabric breathes very well and even without socks, my feet do not sweat. All parts of this shoe are durable without being heavy and it stands up to thorns, rocks, and branches as well or better than most day hikers. The TPU stabilizer shoe is ultra sturdy crossing roots and helps keeps your foot upright even over rocks. Fell in love yrs. ago with the Impact Brake System for dicey downhills b/c it's phenomenal and a great way to inspire the confidence to go all out. In slip lasted shoe construction, the shoe upper is pulled over the last and then attached to the midsole. The resulting shoe is lighter and good for those with rigid feet who need more motion. I am amazed at the lite weight, agile traction, and support mile after mile. This shoe out performs every other runner, trail or street (despite the limited cushioning for cement), that I have owned - including Nike Air Max at $150, and Mizuno Wave at $200. I find myself reaching for them over and over, whether walking dogs or hitting the trails after a monsoon. I LOVE THESE SHOES!!
So good in so many ways BUT...
Bought this trail runner for 1. hiking and 2. trail running (in that order b/c I recently hurt my hip). I have had multiple pairs of Salomons in the past as I won a pair in a race and just kept on wearing them but thought it might be a time for a change. My husband was extremely pleased with his pair (an older version with leather) while backpacking in Denali last summer so I thought I'd give these La Sportivas a try. They were great on my narrow foot in so many ways but unfortunately rode a bit too high and it was evident after only a few short miles on the trail that the outside of my ankles would be extremely unhappy if I kept up with these. So, back in the box they go and probably going to either return to Salomons or give the Patagonia runners a try. Will have to see.
Pros: great tread, light enough, nice stable feel without feeling heavy. Love the covered tongue even though it looks odd as out here in Hawaii the red clay penetrates everything.
Cons: hits too high on the lateral ankle, a bit goofy looking.
If your foot fits La Sportivas, buy this guy without a doubt. If not... maybe consider a little harder since they're not a typical fit.
La Sportiva C-Lite 2.0 Shoe
Great hiking shoe.
I have mixed feelings about this shoe. Very durable, although I bought it thinking it would be a good trail shoe. Nice stability and support, but this is not a light shoe. I found for trail running its not my style....kind of clunky.I do like to wear it hiking though, it offers a good amount of foot protection and the covered top of the shoe keeps the unwanted rocks and debris out.
Overall glad I bought them, but will try to find a lighter weight trail runner.
Best shoes ever!
These are my all-time favorite running shoes. I am a La Sportiva athlete, but that is not why I wear these shoes. I am currently on my 6th pair. I can take these shoes right out of the box and do a mountainous long run without developing any blisters! They provide excellent support, yet are light-weight. I have worn them for races from 5k to 50 miles and cross country races to technical trails and they work great for them all!
Great trail runner. Nice and supportive and while the upper might look a little dorky it's very functional.
Great trail runner
Great women's trail runner - mesh upper stops debris and so on and super light shoe.
