KUHL Thor Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's - 2009 BCS

This hoody is cut big and roomy encouraging additional layers underneath, usually a wind bloc of some sort. I am 6'2" 175lb and there is plenty of space to add layers in the Large. Not a real fashion maker, all zipped up you will resemble a vegetable! The old school zippers are sharp and snag on things (chin whiskers, etc). Plenty of zipped pockets for stashings, but the double zipper feature just adds weight.
The hem cord is not elastic and therefore not very functional and requiring 2 hands to operate, ditto for the hood draw.
Not alot of wool content here (less than 30%) Despite these drawbacks, I find myself wearing it frequently and enjoy the thumb holes for snug glove fit and the roomy hood with stiff collar that blocks the breeze. Decent value, but not on par with Ibex

If you are looking for a very warm heavyweight sweater, that has various fits - choose the KUHL Thor! The dual zipper is fantastic. It opens up or closes up to 2 inches for various fits if you loose weight, or are wearing more or less base layers. I use this sweater everyday, and it super warm. The deep hood keeps me warm through even the biggest gusts of wind, and the thumb loops help keep my digits warm in the gusty Toronto weather.

My only two complaints with this sweater are the price - it is a bit steep for this quality of wool. I have other patagonian wool outerwear that does not pill like this and they were in the same price range. That being said, ALL fabrics pill. Loose threads bunch and gather into teeny balls. So, a sweater shaver might be needed if you dont want the unsightly wooly balls hanging off your jacket.

The second complaint is, for such a heavy weight sweater, an interior pocket is almost needed. This is basically a fall, light winter and cold spring jacket and an MP3 or cell phone interior pocket is a great addition.

Those two little issues are why I gave this product a 4/5 stars. Other then those small niggles, this is an AWESOME jacket!

This is the second jacket that I buy. I returned the first one because of the size. Normally I wear large, so the first one I've ordered was a medium and it's still was too big so I had to go with small.
The quality of work is terrible, the first jacket had many threads piling out uncut at all, and I had the problems with zipper.
The second jacket has a hole on one sleeve because of bad sewing quality and the lining in one pocket is poorly sewn and it makes a hole. The only good thing that the fabric is of good quality and when you get the right size it fits well and covers little bit more than OR Exit Hoodie

I ordered one of these sweatshirts, and it looked really nice. I like the style, with a sweater like appearance plus a hood. It is pretty bulky and very warm. In the end, I had to return it because it sizes quite large. I generally wear a medium, and it seemed more like a large to me.
