If you were the queen of the world, you would have a jacket that is more comfortable than your bathrobe yet more stylish than your Sunday-best. Kuhl's Women's Royale Jacket combines style and comfort to create a jacket fit for a queen (even a pretend queen). The wrap-around style is accented with deep pleats and a ribbon tie to give it a feminine look. The comfort part comes from the luxurious merino wool; it's incomparably soft, warm, and naturally breathable.
Saw this on a friend and it was so cute! She told me about Backcountry.com and all the great stuff that they have. I logged on and ordered this jacket for myself. It arrived really fast. Overall, I'm happy with the jacket. I'm an average 5'2" and wear a 7/8 in most things. I ordered the medium and it fits everywhere except long in the arms. It's not very heavy/bulky either, so has a nice fit, but wouldn't wear it in the snow. You can dress it up or down too, which is what attracted me to it. Also, the black color (which I ordered) has the little grey filament hairs in it, so it doesn't show the dog hair that ends up on most of my jackets. I like to think I have great taste in fashion and clothes, and if you do too, order this and you won't be sorry.
Does this jacket make you look like Luke Skywalker or the Karate Kid in real life? That's the only thing I see in the photo, but it seems like a great jacket. Just curious what it looks like on. Can someone upload a pic wearing it? Thanks!!

Ok, that was an obvious heading, but I couldn't resist. This sweater/jacket is just like all of the other Kuhl clothing I have purchased. Well made, predictable fit, great style.
This jacket is plenty warm for a top layer and spacious enough to go over every sweater I own. It looks really nice with jeans, but isn't what I'd hoped for as a warm layer over oddly shaped dressy clothes. The fit is fine, but it's not as dressy as the photos might lead you to believe. The exposed lining (at least in the black version) is made of something that looks a lot like heathered sweatshirt material - which really detracts from any dressy appeal it may have otherwise had.
I got this jacket for my wife; she loves it, but we had to alter the waist. It fits loose in the mid-section, but the arms are a good length. If you are thin, look at a size smaller.
I just purchased this jacket in a third color I love it so much! I bought the first one 2 years ago and found it a staple of my wardrobe. It's so versatile! Great for throwing on over pjs on cold mornings or traveling when you may need something dressier but don't want to bring a separate item just for that purpose. I also find that the weight of it allows for keeping me warm, but not hot, year round-even on the cool summer nights here in Seattle!
My other Kuhl merino sweaters shrank quite a bit, so I ordered the small thinking it would shrink down to an XS. It didn't shrink nearly as much, and is much more generously cut than the others I have (Prague & Jaspr). It's still very cute and super cosy, just not as figure-flattering.
I love this jacket. It's perfect for chilly Los Angeles nights - even comfortable down into the 40s with a sweater underneath. It's about as warm as my north face fleece, but looks much nicer.
I would say it runs a bit big -- I'm 5'7", medium build, long arms, and the sleeves are a tiny bit too long on me (although I kind of like it that way -- definitely better than too short!). However, the other dimensions are perfect. I bought a medium size.
I need to add on to my original review. I have never ever received so many compliments on an article clothing. People love this jacket. That had to be said. But, one thing is for sure... DRYCLEAN ONLY!! I just washed mine, following instructions to the letter, and it still shrunk to the point where I cannot wear it anymore. I purchased a replacement this morning. Bummed about that, but I still love the jacket enough to buy it twice.
one of my favorite sweaters; my sister and I both have it in the charcoal from last year; sent back the medium (both of us normally wear) for the small.SOME kuhl things run way small ---even before washing---such as the diagonal-opening-collar red full zip Prague sweater from last year, but this guy runs big.but it's true what they say: you'll get admiring/jealous comments from many of your friends when you wear it, every time you wear it.
This jacket does run big but a wash cycle and it fits much better. It does shrink in the wash so a bit bigger is better then too small. Super comfy. more...
