They are velveteen like; nothing knit about them. Very comfortable and they do not stretch out quickly. They do have some stretch to them, so don't order any larger than what you normally wear. I now have three pairs of them!

These pants are really cute and fit really well. They are a little stretchy which makes them great for long plane rides and traveling. I was able to wear them for a couple of weeks before they looked stretched out. I liked this pant so much, I bought another pair. Sizes are regular sizing; a size 6 is a size 6.
