Nice Idea but Poorly Executed

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I bought this three weeks ago on a whim because the material was so nice and it fit well. Like other Kuhl stuff, I figured it would be great for active and casual use.

That night my fam drove to Moab for a couple days. When we rolled out the next morning and it was chilly I naturally reached for this. I threw this on over my polypro shirt. I laterrolled up the sleeves and threw on a backpack to go to the car from the hotel. We all buckled up and headed out.

This was the only "action" the shirt saw in the first 24 hours. After we got to Arches, I got out of the car and went to slide the sleeves when I saw that the material had several snags and runs in it from friction....from rolling up the sleeves, the seat belt, or from the backpack. Really?! I was pretty bummed. I seriously considered buying some shears at the park store to cut the "pills" and threads that were pulling. It looked like something from a used clothing store and it was brand new.

I still loved it and kept it around for a couple more weeks. Each time I cringed to wear it because I didn't want to have more snags and I did not want to look like a hobo. But finally I could not take it anymore and returned it because (1) I buy gear to use it, not to worry about it falling apart, (2) I paid full MSRP and expected it to NOT disintegrate after 24 hours and casual use, and (3) what's the point of keeping something if you don't want to wear it because it looks like garbage?

I read in other reviews online that others are having similar problems. The fabric is just too thin and fragile. Based on that, I asked for my money back because I did not want to be in the same situation again and have to return it again.

Really disappointed with this one, Kuhl.
