  • Side stretch panels allow for easy movement and breathable comfort
  • Drypoint nylon/cotton blend breathes and wicks for comfort, and offers UPF 40 protection
  • Ryder mid-low rise rests comfortably on your hips

Awesome pants!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I am age 50, 5'3" 125#, 29" inseam, with curvy lower body with athletic thighs etc. Pants are almost always to tight in thighs & seat & loose & gaping at waist on me. I'm petite so I order (6) "short". I own 2 pair of the Bandita's. They wear & wash well & seem to be indestructable. But most importantly they FIT!

Great Pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Recently bought these pants and have really liked them. I've never bought KUHL pants before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The quality is good, feel is nice, very comfortable. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I would have preferred the pants to convert to shorts that came above the knee. Not a deal breaker though. Can't wait to use these while hiking Red Rock Canyon.

Awesome climbing pants.

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these specifically for rock climbing and got a chance to test them out last weekend. It was a chilly fall day, but they were plenty warm enough and breathable at the same time. I'm accustomed to climbing in Arborwear pants which restrict movement far more than these do. They're durable enough to be rubbed against rock but lightweight enough to allow you to move freely. I did have a lot of trouble zipping the bottom of the pants back on, so I plan to just never take them off again. These are my first pair of Kuhls and while overpriced, I plan to purchase more of their products. Sizing is standard.

Good pants, weird lengths

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Pants feel good against my skin, even in warmer weather (suspect it's the small percentage of cotton material in the blend). I'm 5'5", 125 lbs with slim hips and an athletic build. Size 4 was a bit loose in the waist (nothing a belt won't fix) and hips. The legs had enough room to be comfortable when bending and moving on a trail. Tried a size 2, but sat too low on my waist and were too tight to be comfortable on a long hike. The size 4 also allows me to wear a pair of long underwear underneath without feeling too constricted. My major complaint is the lengths. 30" was actually 29" (size 4) and 32" was actually 33"(size 4). I suggest buying the longer inseam and washing these pant in hot water and drying them thoroughly the first time you wash them. Worked for me (shrunk about an inch in length and a bit around the waist and hips). These look nice enough to wear for a casual dinner after being outside all day mucking about and I like the zip off legs turning the pants into capri length. They do stretch out a bit as the day wears on, but with my belt on, I hardly notice. The pants could also use pockets that fasten securely in the back and on the legs. The pockets and weird lengths are why I knocked off a star on the rating.

Damaged Bandita

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

So I loved this pant so much that I bought a second pair ? however, the first time I zipped the capris part off ? the stitching at the zipper had come apart (about 2inches worth). Fortunately, since I bought these from backcountry I was able to exchange these for a non-defective pair, no problem! And so I decided to go with a new pair in the Khaki color instead.

love that the 3way convert of these pants, i am 5'5 @ 125lbs, and i bought these in the 6*32 - they are a perfect fit thru hips and thigh with a mid rise - love that! great fabric, and lighter weight that my other kuhls, so they are actually really comfy in the heat as well.

Great versatile pants!

Super comfortable, lightweight and breathable. Very flattering fit. Have used these for traveling and they easily converted to shorts and back to not sash moved between climates. I would highly recommend these!

Nice!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Love these. I've packed on a few pounds (12) lately, but these pants make me look like I only gained 6. Hooray! I tend to carry my extra weight around my butt and inner thighs. I'm 5'7 3/4", and 145 lbs. I bought the size 8, 32" inseam. The fit is slightly snug but very flattering. They are much lighter weight than I expected, but are warm enough at 40F temps. I expect they'll be versatile for warm weather as well. They're actually "dressier" than they appear in the pics. The khaki color is darker than the pics as well. Super comfortable, hug the right places, and give in the right places. They don't stretch out much with use (ladies, don't you hate that?) so they fit nearly the same at the end of the day as they do at the beginning. I hope they'll be as durable as my previous Kuhl convertibles.

Edit to add: I've put these pants through ringer this winter (and I live in mountain/snow country). The fabric, although very thin, has held up surprisingly well. Very comfortable and flexy.
