Carry it all, and then some.
Whatever your pleasure—biking, skiing, kayaking, camping, hot-air ballooning, baboon wrestling, deep-sea shuffleboard, chicken rodeoing—the Kuat Skinny Slimline Gear Carrier will help you and your gear get there, provided you travel via automobile. Like any roof rack, the Skinny Slimline mounts to your vehicle's cross bars, but it only takes up half of the available roof space, so you can mount bikes, boats, tents, balloon baskets, baboon treats, and chicken lassos to the other side. It even comes with a bike mount and cable lock, so you can bring your bike on solo trips without worrying about it getting stolen when you stop at the all-you-can-eat Chinese/American/Mexican/Italian combo buffet for some grub you'll be embarrassed to talk about later.

Evaluate Your Needs - '15 Mazda 3 Sport
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
After evaluating my needs, I went with the Skinny over a cargo box to hold bigger and various shapes of supplies (185cm skis, coolers, bike, packs, hockey bag). So far, it has been great for anything I've used it for and fits my need for versatility much better than a cargo box would have. It opens up a lot of space in the hatchback, which makes packing very simple. The downside is the lack of rain resistance, but generally I keep gear that needs to stay dry in the cabin and rain-resistant gear up in the Skinny.
Installation was dead simple on a Thule Aeroblade roof rack system and took minimal tweaking to get it right. I really like how I still have half of the roof rack to use for other activity-specific hauling (kayak, more bikes, etc). It's also a beautiful product that gets lots of compliments from admirers around town and out in the mountains.
