Description

Whoever smelt it dealt it.

You don't become Kialoa's best-seller for no reason, and the Kialoa Methane Stand-Up Paddle has several. Inspired by surfboard shaper Blane 'Methane' Chambers, this carbon fiber paddle's lightweight design won't leave you gassed after a day in the blue.
  • Carbon build provides superb strength at a low weight
  • An eight-inch-wide blade helps you make quick starts and turns at a steady cadence
  • A slimmer shaft helps cut down on weight without sacrificing strength or stiffness
  • Unidirectional Ergo-T design handle provides a natural feel in your palm and assists with blade control
  • Blade covers 97 square inches of surface area, which provides maneuverability without the unnecessary addition of weight
  • Made in the USA

Purchased the Methane from backcountry and received the paddle damaged. Very disappointed initially, wanted to take advantage of last few good SUP days in New England. I get wet when I paddle board--which I like. Backcountry made it right by ultra fast replacement and refund thanks to Chelsea B. and Rachel. my son and I thank you all for your service. Don't hesitate buying this awesome paddle due to price or shipping!
Now the paddle: Very little water experience with SUP paddles, but I researched and handled many names and materials before purchase. Love this paddle! Super lightweight and easy to use. No rail banging nor fatigue after miles of paddling--awesome! Can't wait until next season!

this is a superb, ultra light paddle - one of the best i've come across for handling and weight. Highly recommended for beginner or expert - you will love this paddle!

I am 5'8" and was getting worn out using a larger blade. I did my research and found that Kialoa had the perfect lineup. No reason why my wife should be using the same sized blade I am and no reason for me to use the same size blade as Laird. With Kialoas 4 different sized blades, I was able to pick the perfect blade for my size and style of paddling. That blade for me was the METHANE. If you are looking for a blade that will allow you to have a higher stroke rate, yet still give you power when you need it, look no further. The Methane is your paddle.

PROS- Oval Index, Super light all Carbon shaft/blade, cool graphics, small/med sized blade allows higher stroke rate, MADE IS USA

CONS-$339 price tag (But still worth every penny) If the $$$ is too expensive, check out the Kialoa Pu Pu paddle. It is the same sized blade as the Methane but with a fiberglass shaft and a thermoplastic blade. I think it retails at $150. I tried it and liked it, but once you use an all carbon you can't go back.
