    Furry, windstopping delight!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I purchased this jacket for my sister to wear on dog walks in colder weather. She has worn it everyday for the past two months. It keeps out the cold Milwaukee wind and offers a lot of cuddly warmth. The best part about it is the general feel of the material and the style of the jacket. That being said, the daily wear and tear on certain parts of the jacket have made the "fur" compressed and a bit matted. It doesn't look new anymore, and we have yet to see how it holds up to being laundered (maybe the fur will bounce back upon drying). I also should have ordered a size up for her (XL) but upon trying on the jacket she fell in love immediately and refused to let me exchange it for a different size.

    Best Jacket Ever

This is the greatest fleece jacket I have ever owned. I get so many compliments. It will make you feel a bit like a wookie or an ewok and everyone will want to hug you.

I love the extra big pockets and the dual chest pockets. The collar gets a bit like a travel pillow when the hood is zipped in but I love how the collar sits inside the hood. When you have the hood up, the collar is pulled up around you for extra warmth. I normally hate high collars but it is so soft and warm, it doesn't bother me at all.

I ordered the color breen. For those of you wondering, it is sort of a gray/brown with a touch of green hue to it. It really depends on the light but for the most part it is a grayish-brown. It looks a bit darker in the photo than it appears in person.

    Great jacket for warmth!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This jacket is lightweight and yet the softest and warmest thing ever! Sometimes I choose to forego a long-sleeve layer just so I can feel the soft fuzziness on my bare arms. I love the Kuhl brand so much, and this lived up to its reputation.

The ONLY drawback I have is that prolonged friction with things (like seatbelts/backpack/purse straps) will start to rub the fur material too much. Also it isn't the best for wind resistance (but better than most other jackets this material). AWESOME for layering!

    Love my new fleece!

It feels so good putting this jacket on first thing in the morning, so soft inside and out. (I wish the pockets had that soft stuff inside too). I have been wearing it all day long every day since I received it, it is good looking and functionally warm. Not wind resistant, but have a shell for that. I am 5"1", weigh 97 lbs and got the XS.

    Teddy bear coat

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This coat is insanely soft and warm. Its actually kinda hard to wear because I get really over heated. I am 125 pounds 5 foot 7, I have a small, which is fine because if I wear much underneath I get way too hot. I usually wear a medium in everything. The collar and hood is a lot of fabric around your face, so if you don't like that, I would go with another jacket.

Its a unique jacket and I would recommend it.

    For Those who like Hugs

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Be warned! Everyone wants to touch this jacket, because the material is so soft--and who can blame 'em? I've taken this jacket to elevation in early spring and it kept me warm on the summit. The styling feels very vintage -- so become Amelia Earhart, the Outdoorswoman, when you don this fleece.

    Soooo soft..

I remember wanting this jacket last season, but it was sold out in my size everywhere I looked. As soon as I saw this years model in stores again I knew I had to get it or else it'd sell out quick like last year. My favorite thing about this jacket is that it is fuzzy and soft both inside and outside. I've noticed that there are a lot of these fuzzy type jackets that are only on the outside, which I don't understand cause I'd think you want that same softness inside too. I feel that this is more of a fashion piece than technical. Keeps me warm in decent cold temps. Easy to wash. I don't even put it in the dryer and it still dries nice and soft and no weird lint or anything stuck on it. The collar is great because its so big, great for burying part of your face if you wanted. I leave the hood out cause when its rolled back in the collar, to me it makes the collar look bulky. Get lots of compliments! When I was trying this on at the store, a woman walked out of the dressing room and saw me looking in the mirror and said how great it looked and that I should get it. I think she was more excited for me than I was! This jacket looks so good that I've already seen 5 other women in my town with it. I was torn between XS and S when I first tried it on, but I went with Small and its still fitted and flattering. I give this 4 stars only because of the price. For me its pretty expensive, but I knew by the time this would go on sale none of my size would be left so I bit the bullet. Its my "Treat Yo Self" purchase of the year!

    fantastic jacket!

love wearing this on the colder mornings when walking the dog, and looking forward to the crisp autumn nights near the water.

It fits close to true size, but is slightly small

Is the soft and furry material also on the inside, or is there a different lining? I ask because I hate the slick, cold material that is so often used on the inside of otherwise warm coats/vests

    Hey Sailoress,

Agreed, I hate that too! This jacket is 100% polyester fleece - soft and furry on the inside as well.

Kuhl says that since this is such a high loft material, you want to avoid prolonged exposure to seat belts, purse straps, etc. because those kinds of things can cause the material to kind of compress. I've seen a couple reviews where "matting" has occurred.

    Hopefully that helps!

    Is it washable

You can machine wash jackets like this (and I would suggest it,otherwise they get gross), but I have found that it is best to wash them separately (they tend to attract dust and lint like no other) and on a delicate cycle, then dry them in a dryer on low heat to revive the fluff factor.
