The Kelty Teton 2 Footprint is a coated nylon tarp placed underneath your Kelty Teton 2 tent to protect its floor from abrasion and wear. A bit smaller than the tent floor, the Teton 2 Footprint is the perfect size to prevent pooling water during rainy weather.
Bottom Line: A tent without a footprint is like a home without a foundation. Protect your investment with a footprint.

I bought the Kelty Teton 2 tent and footprint. However, the
I bought the Kelty Teton 2 tent and footprint. However, the footprint doesn't seem to fit. When I set up the tent the straps of the footprint etxend beyond the tent perimeter so that I can't put the poles into the FP grommets. Any ideas?

I've got just the opposite problem. When I engage the tent poles into the FP grommets, my tent sags horribly.
Kelty assures me this shouldn't be happening and suggests I get an exchange from Backcountry.

I am about to go on a hiking trip in a couple of weeks and see
I am about to go on a hiking trip in a couple of weeks and see that you all are out of footprints for the Kelty Teton 2. Any suggestions on what i could buy or use as a substitute? Do you know when you will have these in stock again?

If you can't find the exact match, pick up a light weight ground cloth. It can also double duty as an awning. Then you can party outside when its raining.

The footprint serves its purpose. It is a little tricky to properly snap in and have the tent perfectly taut. But that is why we have stakes as well. It definitely completes the package on a light freestanding tent.

No, the dimensions are different. I googled kelty grand mesa 2 footprint and came up with many results.

whats the right way to install the footprint, with the tent
whats the right way to install the footprint, with the tent pole end thu the FP garmet1st and then thu the tent corner or tent pole thu the tent 1st then thu the FP garmet? And what is the clip on the end corners of the Footprint use for?

First through the tent, then through the footprint. The clips are so you can set up the fly, footprint, and poles together, without the tent, as a superlight shelter.
